***WARNING - slight blood, sedated dog, and medical procedure ahead***
Porcupine quill are no joke, but the removal is so satisfying.
Please do not try to remove them at home due to how painful they are and how some quills can burrow beneath the skin.
Rehabilitation can take patience, but the results can be so worth the wait.
Here is a video showing the progress Cooper has made by coming to his regular rehabilitation appointment. Go Cooper!
Climbing to the top of our Rehabilitation stairs is no easy task but Helios makes it look easy. Helios for the win đĽ

Bulleit the Corgi Puppy
Meet Bulleit!
This 10 week old Corgi transferred to Allure from his primary veterinarian after being diagnosed with anemia due to hookworm infestation. Hooksworms are one of the most popular intestinal parasites and are common in puppies and kittens so it is very important to have your pets dewormed and on an intestinal parasite preventative.
As you can see, Bulleit is feeling much better after his blood transfusion! If you listen closely, you can hear our ICU technician scolding us for working up her patient. He needs his rest!
No tail? No problem! This little Boston Terrier let us know how happy she was with her tushy wiggles.
Hip hop hooray for Gryffindor! This sweet boy was in our ICU recovering from surgery after an uphill battle but we are so pleased to see him go home with his mom. â¤ď¸
If your pet is nervous around new people and environments and expresses those feelings with teeth (nipping or biting), you may find a basket muzzle to be an invaluable tool. With a little bit of training, wearing a muzzle can be a safe and positive experience for everyone involved (dogs and people alike!). Basket muzzles are especially nice because theyâre comfortable and allow wearers to pant, drink water, and even receive treats! Treats are a key part of our Fear-Free approach here at Allure so well-fitting basket muzzles allow us to continue to positively communicate with your pet. Here is Sweet Pea proudly wearing her muzzle while she works hard with our rehab team and is rewarded for it too!
One huge cheer for Chief!
Chief is a sweet, senior citizen that presented to Allure after being attacked by another dog. He spent 5 days in our ICU department before being discharged to heal at home.
As we all know, the biggest dogs make the biggest babies.
Sometimes making time for kisses and cuddles is the best medicine when treating younger pups.
