With heavy hearts we said goodbye to Amos yesterday. He was a friend to all. He taught horse lesson and life lessons to so many people in his 33 years. Our hearts are filled with love for Amos and his owners, Claudia and Al Balay.

Congratulations to Dr. Balay! A well deserved award. It is a recognition of your many years of service to animal health and more importantly to the education of hundreds of students. NLEC is proud of you!

Congratulations to Dr. Allen Balay on receiving the MVMA Veterinarian of the Year Award!

He retired from Ridgewater College in June 2020 after 25 years as the Director of Veterinary Technology. He is the current chair of the MVMA Veterinary Technicians Committee and is the “resident DVM” at New London Equestrian Center. He and his wife Claudia co-own a sixteen-horse stable with another couple.

We will be sharing all our award winners throughout the week.
