Both gates in the annunciation side left wide open again!!!! Luckily, the owners got there to close them before the dogs ran into traffic!!!! PLEASE SHUT THE GATES!!!

 The gates in the catch pen have been left open many times in the past week. Please make sure to check both sides when you come in. We will attempt to put signs up as reminders. Meanwhile make sure to close the gate behind you.

Hey y’all - please do not come in this gate. We zip tied these gates closed so that they cannot be opened as the actual entrance with the catch pen is right next to this gate. Every time you break the zip ties you make this gate vulnerable and that means dogs being let out into the street. Please use the appropriate entrance and do not snap the ties that have been put in for your safety.

There are three or four spots where a jagged piece of metal that is connected to concrete is sticking up out of the dirt. We are attempting to put orange cones on these pieces so the dogs do not cut their feet. Please do not remove the cones and put them other places as they are there for a reason.

As proposed during the December 7th meeting at Lyons Center, NORDC staff will host a second community discussion to gauge interest in a possible project at Annunciation Playground for the purpose of enhancing public options for legal off-leash dog activity in uptown New Orleans. The meeting will be held on

Tuesday January 10, 2017 from 6 pm to 7 pm
Annunciation Center & Playground , 800 Race Street

Interested parties are invited to attend to ask questions and share comments.

UPDATE: The meeting has been rescheduled for December 7.

NORDC staff is hosting a public meeting to gauge community interest in a possible off-leash dog area at Leo Benewell Playspot to serve uptown residents. The meeting will be held at 6:30 pm at Lyons Recreation Center, 624 Louisiana Avenue at Tchoupitoulas on Tuesday November 15th. LOST DOG - UPTOWN AREA - IF SEEN PLEASE MESSAGE

2 and a half year old American Staffordshire Terrier with a brindle coat and a black collar with small metal spikes. His name is King, but he has a hearing disability so he most likely won't respond to verbal commands. Very sweet dog, he got out the yard between 4 and 10 PM today in Uptown near Tchopitoulas and Lyons street. If you see him or live in the area please share or message! Thanks.
