Friends-
I think I need to share a little more about what we are attempting to do here. Our dearest Fern left an extensive collection of dog clothing, from couture gowns to everyday wears as well as hats, bows, leashes, bags and more….
Melanie and I have worked tirelessly to help bring these items to Fern’s dog community and allow these items to be seen again, to be loved, and worn. We know how much these items meant to Fern and we wanted to allow them to bring about an opportunity to help raise money for animals in need. Fern loved to give back, to attend events in the most beautiful and lovely pieces and make a difference for all whom she loved.
We are friends and volunteers. We have our own lives, our own jobs, our own stresses and challenges. We’ve been working long hours both personally, professionally and organizing for Fern’s sale. This collection is huge!!! Not everything is in mint condition, some items are new, some are gently used and many need some tender loving care. Please understand we unfortunately had to toss many things, as they weren’t salvageable for many reasons. Sadly, not all of her collection is or will be available, regardless of when she received it. We are doing all we can to save and sell as much as we can!
For those asking us to “find” an item, to find something you made or bid against, or the many other requests we have had, please understand, we are VOLUNTEERS!!! This is not our job, so asking us to stop and look for something or mail something back or think your ask is small because you need it back, for whatever reason, it’s not small. You aren’t the only one asking, your ask isn’t small and thinking we have time to do this for you, isn’t fair to the people trying to make a difference and give back in Fern’s honor.
We appreciate your ask and desires, but they aren’t reasonable or fair considering the amount of work, time and effort we are putting out there to help sell her beautiful things!
Also, for those asking us to do this online… consider this, this is not a business, this is not our business, this is a charity effort!! So asking us to spend even more hours trying to sell online, taking photos, doing lives and listing, then taking time to print labels and ship, plus getting to shipping facilities, is an exorbitant amount of time and effort. We wish we had time, we wish we could do everything being asked. We cannot!! We have a finite amount of time, we have a finite amount of time for storage of this massive collection of pretties and we cannot do it all and be able to raise as much as possible, with the least amount of spend!
I believe your hearts are in the right places when you are asking or more recently demanding us to do these things for you! Please step back for a minute and understand the reality of this ask and what we are trying to do!
We will do what we can, when we can… Anything more is a bonus!
We have plans to share a piece of Fern with as many as possible, but a small few are unable to do it all so please help us make a difference in her name!!
