Adopting a dog from an animal shelter is a rewarding experience that transforms lives—both yours and the dog's. When you adopt, you provide a loving home to a pet in need, freeing up space in shelters so we can help more animals. Shelter dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds, many of whom are already trained and just need a second chance. Adopting a dog brings endless joy, companionship, and unconditional love into your life. Make a difference today—adopt a shelter dog and be a hero to a deserving animal!

Hi, my name is Butch. If you’re looking for an awesome 2 year old puppy, I’m your guy. For a fair wage, room and board, I will do tricks and entertain you (Check out my video). I’m a fast learner, energetic, strong, and would love to work for someone with the time, energy and good imagination to help me learn new skills. I strive to be the center of attention and very treat motivated.
So far, I know how to sit, stay, down, roll over, stand, bow, roll on my back, and even clean up my toys (pretty cool, right?). I’ll even get on the scale and sit still to get weighed (my doctor should like that). I’m learning to heel (I’m pretty good at it, if I do say so myself) and catch treats off my nose. I like to play “find it” to find hidden treats and sometimes objects.
I would like to spend all my time with humans, but I am crate trained for when we must be apart. I think I may like a dog sibling, but being very energetic, strong and about 55 pounds, I’m afraid I may play too rough for one much smaller than me.
I’m proud to say I have impeccable potty habits, behave in the car, and walk well on a leash. Sometimes I forget my manners (oops!) and get jumpy when excited to greet people, can pull too hard on leash if I see a bunny, and borrow some of your things if I’m bored, but I’m working hard and getting better every day. I’m currently crashing at a foster pad sharpening my impressive skills, but on a mission to find my forever home.
Hobbies: earning delicious treats, chew toys, zooming around, going for walks, and I enjoy a good magazine.
Dislikes: The words NO, Drop it, and leave it. I reluctantly obey (most of the time) but may mumble under my breath.
Join us for treat time every Tuesday!

Daily enrichment!
Did you know that animals in long term care (over 30 days) must be provided with human interaction other than interaction for enclosure cleaning, same species social interaction, opportunity for play and exercise, and environmental enrichment daily?
With over 175 animals in our care this is a little tricky for our team to accomplish. Thankfully, we have an extraordinary group of dedicated volunteers who show up everyday to provide the animals in our care a little extra love and daily enrichment.
One thing our volunteers do is make and hand out frozen peanut butter milk-bone cookies. As you can see in the video; our dogs absolutely love them and look forward to their daily treat!
Donations help make interactions like this one possible and truly change the life of all the lost/homeless pets in our care
