Some of our adventures with pups. Today, Bruno laid on his thickest charm for everyone at the hardware store. We’ve been babysitting two sisters while their parents are out of town and of course while mom and dads away, they will play! Just a little Doodle romping out in the yard and a game of keep away with the big dogs including their papa!

Today Bruno went to the hardware store with me and worked on his basics. Sit, stay, wait, follow, ignore it and leave it. He did absolutely phenomenal and showed zero signs of being timid or afraid of the unknown. He even alerted to go outside to potty. Such a good boy!

Here’s a good description of Goldendoodle sizes.
Ours GD are considered “Miniature Goldendoodles” not to be confused with petite/toy/teacup. These puppies are projected to be about 40-ish pounds give or take which is considered a “small” medium dog.

There are Three Sizes of Goldendoodles

If you have been considering adding a family dog that is smart, loyal and just plain gorgeous, then you are probably looking at Goldendoodles — or at least you should be. This wildly popular hybrid breed comes from crossing Poodles with Golden Retrievers. There are three sizes of Goldendoodles to choose from.

Standard Goldendoodles

Measuring from the floor to shoulder, these dogs are around 22″ and higher when full grown. Females range from 50 pounds to 60 pounds while the heavier males weigh in from 55 pounds to 70 pounds, with some tipping the scales at even more. These are the largest of the Goldendoodle varieties and as such, need the most space to maneuver around in.

Standard Goldendoodles are wonderful companions for those who enjoy the comfort and security of a larger dog. This size works very well for owners who have homes with large fenced yards for running around and being active. (Be sure that your fence is in good shape.) Even if you don’t have a fenced yard or abundant room, you can have your local dog parks all scoped out so that you provide plenty of socialization options.

Miniature Goldendoodles

This medium-sized dog ranges from 35 pounds to 50 pounds once full grown. Males and females come in at a similar weight. Measuring from the shoulders, Miniature Goldendoodles stand approximately 16 to 20 inches high.

This size doodle is the sweet spot — popular with people living in larger homes with fenced yards, as well as those in smaller accommodations such as condos or townhomes.

Petite/Toy Goldendoodles

These little cuties may be smaller than some of the cats in your neighborhood! Females and males weigh in between 20 pounds and 35 pounds. Measuring at the shoulder, they are approximately 15 inches high. Individuals who live in smaller spaces such as pet-friendly apartments and even full-time RV travelers enjoy this size Goldendoodle as the perfect companion.
