Heading out to the wood yard to select driftwood for today’s work. We pick each piece to showcase the colors and form of the animal. It’s one of my favorite parts of the process. The perfect base sets the tone for the finish product!
Say a big healing prayer for our driftwood collector. He recovers an awesome selection of pieces. Don’t know what we would do without him.

We’ve finished up the Red Foxes for now!

A bit of trivia you; a group of foxes is called a skulk, leash, or earth.

Although Red Foxes are very similar in name and appearance to the Gray Fox, they are only distant cousins. Because Gray foxes have almost twice as many chromosomes as red foxes, crossbreeding between the two is virtually impossible genetically.

This strange looking bird floats like a duck and swims like a duck but it’s definitely not a duck. Let me introduce you to the American Coot also know as a Mud Hen. They don’t have webbed feet like ducks but they do have some pretty cool lobed toes that help make it a great swimmer.

This little guy came into the shop this week. I’m not sure the bow hunters are leaving the rest of you much to work with 👀 Yes, he is nice one!
He didnt come alone though, he had a gazillion ticks, poor guy. Into the freezer you go. We’ll get back to you in a few days. What do you do about the ticks, you ask? They get the hammer.

Can you fix a damaged beak? Why yes, we can! This Florida mottled duck came to us with a bit of his beak blown out. He is a really nice specimen. These ducks are only found in wetlands and open waters throughout the Florida peninsula. They do not migrate, which is rare among duck species.

Hi, our names are Gus and Wiley. We are brothers and we were found in the country together very hungry and in bad shape. Two people took us in and fostered us for the past couple of months. They fed us, took us to vet appointments and made sure we are healthy and happy. They even taught us some things! Now we need a forever home with lots of love and a place where we can run and play. We would prefer to stay together but understand if we need to be adopted separately. If you would like to meet us, please contact Tricia at (334) 740 – 6724. ❤️❤️
