I have to admit, Iโve had these photos for a few days but I needed to focus on how I could tell Gingerโs story. Many of you may remember Ginger. This dog was found with mange, sick, abandoned, pregnant, broken, and close to death because of her health. Ginger is a true survivor! All her puppies got mange from her and we had to separate them from her and bottle feed them because she was too weak to nurse them. Ginger wanted nothing to do with people and was terrified of just about everything! We had to place her in a specialized foster that had experience with trauma. She was rehabilitated with her foster to a certain degree and moved to another foster where she thrived! She gained weight and the second foster was able to gain her trust! Then we finally found her a forever home. She even had a carbon copy of her as her brother and a family with kids! Happy ending right? Well, not so fast. We will spare you the story of how we came to find out she no longer lived with that family. What we can say is she is back with a foster, a vet tech, who cannot keep her because she is not allowed to have pets where she lives. You may be wondering the reason why the family chose to abandon her yet againโฆ well apparently the other doggy, the carbon copy of her, liked her a little too much, if you know what we mean, and his romantic gestures were not as PG or ideal for them and their small kids. Well this is the sad reality of some of the wonderful adoption stories that we want to believe in, but it really hurts when itโs a case like this because it took a lot of work by a lot of people to gain her trust and heal her brokenness, only to be let down again! Ginger needs somebody that can commit to her and will not dump her or run if something comes up. We need to believe a person that will show her that love, real love, exists and that not all humans will let her down!
