I want to address the recent cinnamon recall. The FDA recalled 6 brands of non organic discount store cinnamon for high levels of lead. Yikes, right? 😳

Chuck it if you have any from the dollar stores or discount grocery stores until further notice. I won’t put the brands on blast but Google cinnamon recall.

I use Anthony’s Organic Ceylon Cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is the safest kind for dogs and gives them many of the same benefits that humans get from adding cinnamon to their foods. Plus I think it tastes superior to other types. 😋

People are so weird— “it’s abuse!” Blah blah blah.

Treats are not meals people! And what you feed your dog is between you and your vet. Not my business or anyone else’s. I never expected such controversy about apples and peanut butter! 🍎🥜

Are you mad yet?

They have come for in vitro fertilization treatments now. Frozen embryos are fully people in Alabama now. If you implant multiples and don’t carry all of them to term you’re in danger of catching murder charges. (Hint: they implant multiple embryos just to get one that’s viable.)

You don’t live in Alabama? Never fear, other states and the House of Representatives are copying and pasting that bill as we speak to make it a nationwide ban on IVF. Pro-life? That’s a joke.

If you know anyone who has struggled with infertility this should worry and anger you.

It’s about freedom! The right to bodily autonomy for everyone.

Serious question.

Is it wrong to want to know what causes or organizations people who solicit donations or big discounts are benefiting? I went round and round with this person and they would not tell me who they were affiliated with. I’m very particular about who I want my business to be connected with and got a strange vibe from this whole conversation.

In my experience people are generally thrilled to talk up their cause and understand that businesses want to know these things before they get involved.

I’m not sorry they don’t want to do business with me, the whole thing felt shady.

Do your doggos like veggies? If so which ones? I want to make more savory plant based treats this year.

These have zucchini and pumpkin in them. I got good feedback from the samples I gave out but I didn’t sell a whole lot of them last year. I’m trying again, we’ll see how it goes.

Meat lovers don’t worry I’ve still got you. Being inclusive of dogs and humans with different dietary needs is my favorite thing!

It’s that time of year again! If you’re cold the dogs and cats in shelters are too. Drop off any spare blankets to your local shelters. I just got a shipment of new fleece blankets for our shelter and am offering them in my shop to donate as well as bags of cookies. I always add to the donations people order so the dogs get more. Thank you all for helping so many dogs waiting for their forever families! 🥰

Lucy update. CW, veterinary stuff. I’m blown away by all the love we’ve received from friends and strangers (new friends) alike! Lucy is dehydrated and severely anemic. We won’t know the cause of or cure for the anemia until the blood work comes back. Some possibilities are pretty grim but others are easily fixable. Paws and fingers crossed please. She was given iv fluids, steroids, b-12, and an appetite enhancer. She’s resting now in her favorite spot in the sunroom. I hope she eats soon.
