South Ogden animal control are looking for a reliable foster for this sweet young baby girl. She is only around 3 months . She came in as a stray. She was very underweight, but is doing so much better . She needs to be loved on and have a family that will spend time working with her . She is an absolute sweetheart . She is really doing well at potty training as long as you take her out regularly. We are still trying to get her into a Vet, to be fixed , but should be the next couple weeks. 2yr Spayed female long hair chihuahua. This little girl is tiny she is probably 3lbs. She loves attention. She will rub on your face like a cat if you let her. She is good with other dogs and cats but doesn’t like to share the bed. She is potty trained as long as you are consistent about taking her out. She does seem to have sensitive ears so you will need to watch them. She is at the Shelter today. Her adoption fee is 175.00.

Scooby is a 10 month old Shetland sheep dog poodle mix. We have been working with scooby on his social skills and basic training. He is good with other dogs and cats. He likes to play with the cats, so they need to be dog savvy. Scooby has been learning to use a dog door. He hates being kenneled but doesn’t try to break out of them. Scooby is still working on potty training but is almost there. He is left out when his foster is not home, and he sticks to his dog toys. He will have a p*e accident if not taken out before his foster mom leaves the house. Scooby is still shy, but with time and patience he will be a great companion. He does have a coat type that would be considered allergy friendly. He is a medium size.

Lilac is very shy but has started warming up to people. She now believes very strongly that we aren't going to eat her.
She really likes to snuggle at the end of a bed.
She is crate trained, potty trained, and working on leash skills.

Asha is a 1yr old heeler. She is good with other dogs but likes to play rough and is very high energy. She is good with cats but likes to annoy them. She would be best with older children because she loves to crawl on them. This little girl is so sweet and desperately wants to be part of a family. She is a typical heeler.Asha's biggest problem is she fear p*es. With time patience and consistency she does very well She has overcome it at shelter but it may happen a couple times due to change .. . Asha is kennel and and potty trained aside from the fear p*eing. She loves to sleep in bed but will also sleep in a kennel. She is still young so she may get into mischief if left to roam the house un attended. Asha would be a great companion for someone willing to be patient and consistent with her.

is coming back to the south ogden shelter🥲 out of no fault of his own. His now owner said he’s an amazing dog. He just doesn’t have the time, or a big enough yard for him And wants better for him . Bandit was a favorite when he was at the shelter. He’s such a sweet boy. We love him … If anybody would be willing to Foster him until we find someone to adopt him, we will be grateful for that . 2yr neutered male husky pyrenees mix (We think lol)
Petey is a very sweet, happy dog who likes to be around you and give kisses. He’s pleasant, quiet and good around the house. He can be a bit anxious and nervous, but he’s been gaining confidence in his foster home. He wants to figure out what life has to offer and just enjoy everything! He hopes to find a very kind, patient family who is home more often than not. He gets really cute and happy when he’s excited about joining in with what you’re doing, when you play with him or go on an adventure, or when he’s playing with toys. He might even give you an adorable “awoo” every now and then when he’s extra happy. He’s done great with potty training and learned “sit” and “down”. He loves the dogs he’s living with and would be happy with another dog friend.

Nova loves people and enjoys loves and snuggling.
Nova is a typical husky that needs exercise and mental stimulation.
While Nova adores car rides, she's currently learning the importance of staying in the back seat for the entire journey.
She's knowledgeable of essential commands like sit, stay, and come.
While she may still be a work in progress, Nova's willingness to learn and With consistent practice, patience, and positive reinforcement, there's no doubt that Nova will continue to excel. The opportunity to socialize and interact with other dogs ignites Nova's playful spirit.
Tasty treats add an extra layer of excitement to her training.

TOBY
He’s tall, dark and handsome and good on a leash. What more could you want?!
He’s friendly and crazy about his humans. He’s house-trained and crate-trained although a dog bed in your room is his guilty pleasure. It seems he’s been trained not to get on furniture. He is sometimes reluctant, but he knows sit and stay. Probably more, but he isn’t talking.
He would do best in a home without young children or other dogs as he’s a bit stingy with toys. Other than that, he comes highly recommended.

Fancy Nancy is ready for her forever home. She’s came from a puppymill here in Utah. She’s a 4 year old apricot poodle. She adores kids and loves other dogs. She is house broken, fine with chickens and good with other dogs. She is also kennel trained. She prefers to sleep in a bed but will also sleep in a kennel. She has the happiest butt wiggles. She was completely terrified when she first went into foster. She has come a long way in the last month or so.

After speaking with these people today, who are the new owners, we feel the need to put out a post so you understand what do do if your pet ever gets lost.

If your pet is microchipped, make sure the information is current. If you know who implanted the microchip, that's the best place to update it. License your pet in the city you live in. License tags give us owner information quickly. A License will also have the microchip information attached. So even if they are not wearing a tag we can find the information from the microchip. If you need to report your pet as lost, please give the microchip number. This will help another facility on the same database see if another shelter on that system has your pet. Try to keep as current as possible pictures of your pet. If they are not chipped or wearing identification, this is extremely helpful. It's important to know the animal control in your city as well as the city's around you. This will help if your pet makes it into another shelters jurisdiction. Please call as soon as possible and always try to speak with an officer.

For those that re home pets with tags or microchips. Make sure to call the microchip company and change the information to the new owners name. Some companies will not update a microchip without a release from the original owner. The same goes for tags. Rabies tags need to be updated to the new owner, and licenses need to be updated to you no longer having the animal.

Please help us get your pets back to you as fast as possible.

This sweet boy’s people came for him❤️ They had recently gotten him from the previous owner that was listed on his microchip. They made a huge donation to go towards a future dog in need.
