Hey Friends! Well, it is that time again! Betty is starting her cycle, and we have decided this will be Sherman and Betty's "last dance". If we aren't successful this time (as we haven't been the past 3 cycles) we may either retire them both, or find another stud. We never intended to have her do more than one litter a year, and we wanted her retired by the time she is 6. She has had only one litter to date. That said, we all look forward to having both of them fixed, and not having Sherman lose his mind for 2 weeks straight every 6 months! (And also hoping he will stop feeling the need to mark literally everywhere, including in the house!)

Well, sadly, our hopes are dashed. No puppies this cycle. Next chance will be the April breeding, and we will likely work with a stud rather than Sherman. So sorry to those of you who have stuck with us waiting to hear a litter announcement. I admit, I was really looking forward to pups again, and now I want to throw a tantrum! Betty just keeps leaning on me like "Sorry, Mom. I didn't mean to make you sad." She is SUCH a sweet monster!

Love is in the air! (And Sherman is losing his mind!)

Mating confirmed, but it will be a bit before we know if it "took"! I'd so, puppies will be due between 11/29 (the last litters birthday!!) and 12/3.

I am going to hold off on opening depositor slots until we confirm pregnancy this time!

Thanks!
Tracy

Hey Friends! So sorry for the long silence! It has been a busy summer around here, and with no pups to keep me busy, I have certainly found a lot of other things that needed attention!

That said, strange things are afoot at the Circle K, Ted! Sherman has started peeing on literally everything (territorial marking - he goes on over drive when Betty starts to go into season), and Betty has started hu***ng Sherman non-stop. (I know. I KNOW. That's not how this works. I have told her.)

Long story short, we anticipate her heat cycle starting earlier than I had planned, which is ultimately just fine with us!

On the super plus side, my husband and I will both be working from home permanently, so my worries about having to leave the pups when I went to work each day is resolved! (And for those who don't know, I sleep next to their box for the first month, so not having to get up and ready for work when I wake up frequently through the night is a MAJOR bonus!)

I will update more as soon as Sherman (lol) confirms she is in season. We should then be able to project delivery/potential puppybgo home after that!

Well, the bad news....no litter this go-around. She had put on a little weight, and was acting like she did with the last litter, but the xrays showed no little critters rolling around in there. I've contacted everyone in line for a pup from this litter, so please check your email/messages.

Our next opportunity will be in October, which truth be told was when we actually intended to breed - this go around was a fluke, and we thought maybe it would be good to get on a summer delivery schedule rather than a winter schedule, since travelling is so much more difficult (Ask Theo's family from California, who ended up visiting Omaha in the -20 degree weather!)

I would be lying if I said I wasn't bummed. And yet, now we can enjoy some of the summer without being tied to the house for puppies! Yet another opportunity to learn patience!

Alright friends! Betty's ultrasound is a week from tomorrow!! (Her vet only does pregnancy xrays on Tuesdays, and tomorrow is a little early for best reaults.) So hang in there! Betty has definitely thickened up, but I am not yet feeling much action in her belly. Last time it was so fun to put my hand on her belly and feel the VERY active pups! We are getting excited!! I have just a few more things to do in prep for puppy day, but I am sure it will be here before we know it!

Happy Saturday all! Still too early to confirm, but we are seeing lots of signs Betty is indeed pregnant! That said, I am opening up 6 spots on our waitlist, 3 male and 3 female. Waitlist spots are held by placing a deposit of $200. The deposit is refundable if no puppy of your selected gender is available. Her last litter was 6 boys and 6 girls, so if we're lucky we will have a good split this litter too! The litter will likely be all black with white markings on chin, chest blaze, and back toes.

Current Waitlist:
Males:
1.) LEHNER
2.) PARKS
3.)

Females:
1.)
2.)
3.)

I won't be able to confirm for a few weeks yet, but we may have a summer litter! Our plan was to wait for fall, but I forgot to explain that to Sherman and Betty! As soon as we have confirmation, I will open the waiting list. Placement on the list is determined by the order deposits are received. Deposits at that point are refundable if no puppy in your chosen gender is available. While both parents carry brown, the last litter was entirely black, most with white markings on chin, chest, and toes. I am limiting the waiting list to 6 for this litter until we can do the xray to determine litter size. (12 last time)

Ohhhh Lawd....it is getting crazy up in here!!! Sherman has taken up yodeling. Apparently the acoustics are best around 5 AM. HE IS Alternating the howling with whining. For those of you that haven't experienced it, Sherman HOWLS like his heart is BREAKING...but he only does it at certain times. When, you ask? Well. When Betty is in heat! Yep, it's that time again!! Lol.

We are not planning a litter this cycle, but this does inform the next cycle, which should be October-ish. Last year's litter bred in September, so that will likely mean December puppies this year. (HO HO HO!!)

Sorry it has taken a bit, and I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to get the puppies up so you could start putting your deposits down! That said, I have the website done at least, although I've not yet gotten pics up. It's a process! (And I've got 16 dogs to care for right now!
