Michael the goose came in yesterday for a swollen eye. Dr. Matheson and his assistant Keira stained his eye to make sure there was no scratch and diagnosed him with an eye infection. He was such a good boy and had tons of pets!

The New Year is just a few days away! Here are our top pet safety tips so you can welcome in 2024 as safely as pawsible:

-Keep all pets indoors
-Make sure pets have an ID and are chipped
-Keep human food and alcohol away from your pet, and relay to any guests of this as well
-Keep your pet in a cozy area with music or a TV on. These sounds help to drown out any party noises and/or fireworks.

Our technicians and assistants are a jack of all trades! Here is Mel learning how to draw blood from a jugular vein and placing an IV catheter!
We run most of our blood work in house, so we can provide quick care for your beloved pet.
We also place IV catheters for your pet before anesthesia, if they are dehydrated and in need of fluids, and prior to a euthanasia.

Arthritis is extremely common in pets, especially as they age. Signs of arthritis in pets include (but are not limited to):

-Stiff or swollen joints
-Difficulty standing from a lying position
-Difficulty going upstairs or jumping
-Reduced muscle volume in the rear limbs

Aly our veterinary assistant’s chaotic duo Gizmo and Bones❤️
Gizmo (grey and white tabby) and Bones (white and black)get into mischief together but couldn’t be more different. Gizmo is a cat of simple pleasures. He loves a year round electric blanket, 24 hour cuddles, laser pointers, and 24 hour kibble catering. He’s under the delusion that he’s the king of our home. Bones is a daddy’s boy and prefers perching on his dad’s lap and watch podcasts. On occasion when he is feeling generous, he will grace me or our daughter with cuddles. He loves hide and seek and when we give up the only way to bring him out of his hiding spot is get his favorite toy: Sticky, a plastic stick from a cat toy. If you run that stick on the ground he will come running instantly.

Thanksgiving may be over, but we are all thankful for our pets! This week we will be showcasing our staff pets.
These are our receptionist Blu’s kitties April and Myla.
Here is what Blu has to say about this duo:

April (tabby) loves to sleep and play with her feather toy and eat chicken or anything that she can't have. Myla (white/grey) likes to watch birds and cars out the window and roll around with her catnip toys. Theyre both crazy and love sardines as a treat and they know how to sit and spin on command (when they feel like it that is).
