The b***os of Big Bend Ranch State Park are a national treasure. The people who live near the park are horrified that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has slaughtered the b***os despite their requests and appeals that it stop. A moratorium on the slaughter was finally announced March 20, 2012. However TPWD Department clearly stated it would resume the killing if someone doesn't come
in and remove the b***os. This stance left unchallenged and dismantled through legislation to protect b***os, seals the fate of hundreds (perhaps thousands) of b***os that will migrate into the unfenced park. It is now our objective to seek legislation to protect the wild b***os -- muzzling TPWD employees from carrying out an egregious agenda. These b***os belong to to Americans -- not TPWD. This state agency is amuck with a sense of entitlement to ignore the wishes of Texans and Americans. Those who have been in the trenches with this crisis for years believe that TPWD is motivated by desire to increase numbers of Big Horn Sheep to increase revenues for the state government via sale of hunting licenses. A hunting license for Big Horn Sheep costs 300k (three hundred thousand dollars). No independent scientific studies have been performed to validate the TPWD premise that b***os are "exotics" which harm the local ecosystem. Some argue they support the ecosystem and studies need to be undertaken to reveal the truth. B***o advocacy groups unanimously believe there is a money-driven subterfuge at work here on the part of Texas Parks and Wildlife and Governor Rick Perry. We call on Americans to protest this abuse of state power -- ignoring the wishes of American people (and Texan citizens) on this issue. A petition of 103,000 signatures demanding a moratorium on b***o slaughter was brought to the state capitol in Austin, in January 2012. Gov. Rick Perry and his staff refused the petition and thus far have not acknowledged the petition. YOU CAN HELP. Write Gov. Perry's office and inform him you want legislation to protect the b***os. Let him know you will boycott the state's parks (and his future candidacy for any federal office) until he changes his stance. Ask him that as Governor of the State of Texas he would honor the mandate set forth by the federal government for the protection of wild b***os and horses. These are our b***os. These are your b***os. Please make your protest known. Please sign the petition on change.org. Please share this page with your friends. Tell your friends what is going on. Write letters to the editors of the major Texan newspapers. The more people who know, the sooner we can put laws in place to protect b***os at Big Bend Ranch State Park from TPWD employees in helicopters that swoop down to shoot b***os with rifles (some stomach-shot and left to suffer in agony). It is estimated that half the herd has been slaughtered.
