We said goodbye to our beloved Ringo today! 🖤 We are so happy we could find him a new home where he will be very well loved & cared for (and not too far!). It’s always hard parting with the good ones. We wish we had more time (and stalls🙂) to keep him but we are SO happy to have found him his new family. He will certainly be getting the attention he deserves! 🤍

What a fabulous 3 day clinic we had here with Ivy Starnes - Ivy's Glide Gait! We had trotty horses, pacey horses, spooky horses, and all made such big improvements over the 3 days they were here. Ivy really focused on getting softness with every horse, finding the proper head down, and emphasized her method of stop and praise - which rewards the horse for every correct response throughout your training. 🐎

A huge thank you to Ivy for helping us all make such a big transition from where we started this weekend.

Keep an eye out as Ivy is likely to return to Owego, NY next year! Follow our page to stay tuned. 🌅

We hosted another wedding here at Sunset Hill Acres and it sure was it a beautiful day for it! We had over 170 people here celebrating Kevin & Katie, whom have finally tied the knot after 12 years! 💍

We had a fantastic weekend hosting Luke Reinbold Horsemanship LLC for another horsemanship clinic. Our trail ride to the Tree of Life was icing on the cake (truly a tree we can fall in love with again and again). Many of us over came challenges and all of us continued to grow and add tools to our tollbox. We thank Luke for sharing his knowledge with us and helping us meet our goals with our horses. We thank the lord for a beautiful, safe weekend.

We are hosting Luke Reinbold Horsemanship LLC again here at SHA this weekend, Saturday & Sunday (June 10th & 11th). We are excited and looking forward to continuing our horsemanship journey and adding a few more skills to our toolset. Clinic is full but auditors are welcome for $20/day. Feel free to come watch and hear what Luke has to offer to improve upon your horsemanship! 🐎 We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

We’ve been busy this past month!

On March 7, 2023 we welcomed Raine’s c**t, Sunset’s Ramblin Champ (aka Rambler).

On April 2, 2023 we welcome Cocoa’s new filly, Sunset’s Ramblin’ Cocoa Shae (aka Shae).

It has been nothing but excitement, joy, happiness, with a little bit of caution in between! ♥️ We are so happy to see these two beautiful healthy babies running around in the pasture today with their mommas. We couldn’t ask for a more peaceful setting for them all.

They certainly take after their sire, Sunset’s Rockin’ Rambler (aka Rocky). These are his first two babies and we couldn’t be happier with them. If you or someone you know has interest in breeding with him, please reach out so we can put you on our plan in the near future! ☺️

5 year old Tennessee Walker & Spotted Saddle mare. 15.1 hands, bay tobiano

She’s got a spunky personality with tons of curiosity! She’s very personable and in your pocket. She enjoys being outside and jumping around (literally), which is how she got her name. Every morning she goes out to the pasture she skips, hops & jumps for joy ☺️

Tim had a great first ride on her this past weekend, which just sealed the deal (they aren’t all mine!). I think he has fallin’ for her.. 🥰

Who’s hoping for a future foal from this gal and Rockin Rambler? 🐎 😉

We have a lot of exciting plans in the works at Sunset Hill Acres for 2023 and are in the process of finalizing our horse clinic schedule for the year.

We are looking to gauge interest to see who would like to attend a Gaited Horse Clinic with renowned trainer Ivy Starnes. If you aren't familiar with Ivy, she lives in Ft. Worth, TX and has been training horses for over 15 years and has held horse training clinics all over the country. She helps owners find their horse's smooth gait using simple exercises and is well-known for all of the knowledge and content she shares training various types of horses.

This clinic would be a 3-day clinic from Fri., August 25 to Sun. August 27 held here at SHA in Owego, NY. Please comment below if you would be interested!

We were blessed to host Luke Reinbold Horsemanship LLC for the 3rd year in a row and first time here at Sunset Hill Acres! 🌞 Luke is the type of instructor that will challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone to accomplish something you never thought would be possible. He does it with words of encouragement and truly puts his faith in you and your horse. 🐎

This weekend we really stepped it up in our horsemanship. We learned some new exercises that really challenged us and our horses and also got to work with the pro cutter (cow simulator), which allowed everyone to really work their horses movement and increase their confidence together as a team.

This clinic was a special one to us as it was with all of our close friends who all encourage each other on a daily basis to continue to do better and help each other achieve their own goals. It was said at the end of the clinic that one of the most memorable moments from the clinic was sitting around the campfire at night, staying up late & talking with one another. If we could stop time just a little more and embrace the moment a little longer, we certainly would have.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed. Set your goals high and enjoy the ride. Thank you Luke Reinbold for another amazing clinic.
