Courtesy of my Aunt and Dad’s sister, Marvel: 1966-7. Vietnam War… Gary was drafted and served his 2 years at Ft Sam in San Antonio, Texas. He was slated to go to Nam, his paycheck went but right before his group was getting ready to go, one of the Soldiers who was a Vet assistant w the Army horses also, decided he wanted to go instead so Gary was kept in Calvary division for a year and then moved to Medic position at the Ft Sam Hospital, for which he was trained for. I always heard the entire unit never made it back including the fellow soldier who took my Dad’s place.

After 44 years my parents have closed/shut-down Astraddle A Saddle. They would like to thank all their loyal guests over the years and the many memories that were made. It is bittersweet after I moved to AK (Alaska) in April 2004, creating and managing the Astraddle A Saddle business page from afar.

I would like to also thank my parents for instilling in me a strong work ethic, compassion, empathy and molding me into a strong, adventurous, and the independent daughter I am today after spending 24 years alongside them in the family business.

With Love, Appreciation, and Forever Greatful,
Cortney Bramwell
