Feel so bad they have had to deal with people as this.
Unfortunately I personally can't even count how many times I have had this same guilt trip dumped on me.
Like they said..... Do Better, Be Better people

We don’t usually post things like this.

We really prefer to stay out of the drama, but it seems like there are no boundaries for the way people decide it’s okay to treat other people. Especially volunteers who have no obligation to do what they are doing and do it out of love and kindness.

Trying to guilt trip a rescue into taking animals they don’t have capacity for ISN’T OKAY!

We have boundaries for a reason! We need to be able to provide care for the animals our capacities are set around and trying to make us feel guilty for those boundaries is a really ugly thing to do.

Second- threatening to leave a review because we haven’t been able to drop everything and take your kitten is soooo dirty!

We help when we can. We help more than we should! We are doing the best we can.

Very few people leave reviews.
We help people day in and day out with their animals and we rarely get reviews, good or bad.

One negative review- especially an unjustified one like threatened, being left during a tantrum, makes a big impact on small organizations.

Do better. Be better.

We are doing the best we can.

Just fills my heart seeing this sweet boy smile. In only a few days after being found wearing 2 overly tight collars, that were cutting into his skin. Scared of any sudden movement or noise. He is seeing life can be good.

I am looking for advice and guidance from a business minded person(s) to help me restructure Animal Elskan Inn, LLC.
I am wanting to set up a separate "business" for the impound/stray animal portion.
I am hoping by doing this, I will be able to apply for financial grants on a state or even federal level, instead of asking and depending on local donations. Which hopefully will create the opportunity to help even more animals in our area.
Recently, I had an amazing client apply for a local grant on my behalf, for some funding to help with the HVAC issues the impound building (it is a totally separate building from the rest of the business), it was rejected do to being a "for profit" business, which I do totally understand since I have done all the impound and shelter business along side the boarding part.
I was managing the accounting through the one LLC, for my simplicity. But the stray animal has never made a profit and has been my voluntary time and work that I do. And because of all the support and donations I have received over the past 5+ years, I have housed and cared for hundreds of animals that have come in and feel that the need keeps increasing.
