Friday Fishy Photoshoot &
New Arrivals at Elite Menagerie Habitats - It’s a Lengthy List!

We’ve been on some shopping sprees for our customers! Thank you for all the support at the shop. Lots of new hobbyists, new wishlist items, and new referrals! Thank you, thank you, and did we mention …thank you!

What a week of unpacking new stuff, folks! We brought in 14 boxes of dry goods, 9 boxes of nano & oddball fish, plecos & inverts, a huge box of aquatic plants, and over 1000 pounds of rocks & stone.

We still have a truck on the way with a huge order from Ultum Nature Systems of more new rimless tank sizes, equipment, and even more varieties of driftwood & stone - arriving September 26th.

And, my long awaited favorite friend will be bringing in her custom, hand collected and cured xxl pacific driftwood pieces, huge manzanita branch & cholla wood pieces we receive twice a year in the next few weeks, too.

We also received an update from Pleco Ceramics. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine/Russia, most of our dry goods could only leave the country via boat. Some items including foods and smaller ceramics are in, including:

DIY Pleco Paste, Pleco Tablets, Spirulina Foods, Ceramic Leaves & Natural Pleco Caves - Tree Trunk style.

A few larger ceramic products won’t arrive for at least two months. Hang in there, it will be worth the wait. Meanwhile, our thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by this horrible conflict.

Back to being open 6 days a week!

All of us at the shop truly hope our customers enjoyed their summer break. With Fall starting to settle in, we are back to our 6 day per week schedule here at the store. We have also extended shipping to 3 days a week to crank out all orders in a timely fashion.

Let’s get the fish hobby season started off with a bang! It was a much busier August than expected. We have met so many new customers, and filled our tanks here with new fish every week throughout the summer months. The “slow down - off season” didn’t seem to occur, because you guys and gals sure kept us busy. The referrals to shop, word of mouth marketing, and customer loyalty is much appreciated. Thanks for all the support and positive feedback/social media reviews, as well. Nothing goes unnoticed 💕

Good evening fishy gang!

With summer in full swing, the aquarium hobby business tends to slow down during July and August. Families are getting their beach vacations in, others are prepping their kids for college, and weekend barbecues and pool parties are a must this time of year.

Our first announcement is to remind all of our customers that, during the month of August, the shop will be closed Sundays thru Tuesdays. Business hours will be Wednesday thru Saturday during the month of August so we can take a break and are able to spend time with our friends and family, too.

Unfortunately, due to the IT mess discussed in our earlier post today, some of our fish have been lost in transit. My heart breaks in situations like this, but all we can do is move forward. We were able to receive a “better late than never” order from one supplier. In those boxes, we brought in some staple item refills and a few new oddballs. What came in this week?

We brought in lots of refill tetras including Rummynose, Neons, Lemons, and a few other staples.

Rummynose Rasboras, and a few of our micro Rasbora collections were restocked.

Locally homebred Swordtails came in today from one of my favorite breeders. These guys and gals are super chunky monkeys!

For our Geophagus fans, we snagged some more Heckelii’s and were able to get our hands on some Yellow Hump Eartheaters.

We also refilled our Otocinclus, Siamese Algae Eaters, and a few of our pleco lines.

In Rainbows, we refilled a few of our dwarf species and restocked our Parkinsoni and Boesmani lines.

And lastly, for exotics and rare finds, I couldn’t pass up on Potato Puffers and Rubripinnis Killifish. Both are some of my favorite fish, and I hope you enjoy seeing them at the shop, too. I also couldn’t pass on brining in Diamond/Lame Kohaku Rice Fish.

Well, folks, we tried our best.

We delayed shipments to customers and deliveries to the shop this week because of inclement weather conditions, extreme heat, downed trees and power lines, and severe storms.

Thankfully, all of our shipments to customers, with the exception of one package - we didn’t send luckily, arrived to their destinations.

We expected our new deliveries today, but due to the IT outage nationwide, it looks like packages will not be coming in today because many flights were grounded.

We hope and pray that the new fish order is going to be OK, and thankfully, the extreme heat has calmed a bit so, they should arrive just fine, but, it most likely will not be today 😔

We will keep you posted with the updated list when things arrive, acclimate, are fed, and clear our health check.
