We had the cutest and sadly the last litter from our adorable Tucker. Tuck was an English male, from a line we have been breeding well over 10 years. When we started we just wanted to keep from everyone being over 70lbs. We incorporated Nyx into the mix. (That’s Tuckers grandma). From the first, he always threw litters that had at least 2-3 out of 5 and over that didn’t go over 30lbs. We had several that were in the 26 lb realm. Just looking at them without say a ruler close to compare you would never know.
I am thankful that I kept Stinkerbelle from the litter before this one as I just adore her, and I would like to keep this line going.
Ringo Starr and Yoko are the smallest of the litter, and I expect both to come in under 30lbs fully grown

I love some of the few groups I follow. If I am
Being honest, I do NOT have mad
Facebook Skills. I have no
Idea how to post on Instagram
Although I do have an account.
However,
What I do Have is a bigger smile after I see some of these posts!
Is it wrong that I live the ones about pets more than people?

My youngest grandson has won the heart of my little StinkerBelle
She always looks
Like she really really wants him to look into her eyes and she will tell
Him Something insanely Important….
Then she loses her train of thought and tries to drag his Tshirt over his head.
Haha

On our latest English litter we had a cleft palate baby :(
She was pretty healthy looking and I have had to tube feed babies before so I braced myself and decided to do my best to give her a shot at life. I have not mentioned her because … well it’s just too scary, and what if I failed!? It’s just too damned easy to accidentally kill them. Milk up her with a direct path to lungs = Puppy
Pneumonia which is Just NOT PRETTY.
The first 2.5 weeks I tubed her every 2-3 hours (yes including nights) and we had some damned scary moments. In between feedings she went back in basket and was like … burrito wrapped. Shock of light and back to the pseudo womb.
At around 3 weeks I set her up with heating lamps and cushy pillows and she joined us all. Again - many frightening moments. Every week I was marveled at her sheer will to live.
I am still tube feeding her - simply upping the volume, and to be honest at 7 weeks she was feeling a bit pissy about it all. She was getting really good at spitting it out and of course in the way out it went up her nose. I had about 7 weeks of that and was convinced I would fail and kill her. I want to say I slept well and it got easier but it just didn’t and I didn’t. I would like to mention lack of sleep just makes you dumb, or is it just me?
One night when she was being particularly difficult and I desperately wished I could just put her back in the burrito. I was so very very tired. I sat up
In the middle of the obscenely early hours - having not yet slept for the zillionth night in a town and researched what to transition to from tube feeding.
I found a link discussion foods and I started making her a liver and beef purée with rice carrots and peas and a gelatin backer to make it - well hang together.
Ok
Eat to live (tube feeding) live to eat - grandmas purée.
Jeezums what a pig! She went prime her birth weight of 10 oz, To about 1.25-1.5lbs during the gelatin purée time…. She just never seemed
To get any bigger. I had an 8+ week old puppy who was still under 2 lbs. I mean you have to live her she is just this scrawny - ears all Pointy and sticking up (looked like a kid with her pony tails too tight)…. But by god she hung in.
About a week ago I brought her outside to give her a taste of life. She played in the grass and then went to the “big girls food bowls with Victor Hi-Pro Plus puppy nuggets (hard) and proceeds to eat a whole bowl.
What!!!!!!
Dear Lord …. All I can say is Thank You.
Looks at me now!!!
Still only around 3.25lbs but by god she made it.
