Rancho Luna Lobos has always been dedicated to giving dogs a fighting chance for a better life. We have had our fair share of "aggressive" dogs come through our program as well. "Aggressive," meaning most dogs just need more socialization and time to come around.

New laws, with Summit County Animal Control, state that we can no longer accept dogs with a bite history that could potentially be a danger to the public. We have had a record number of calls, this spring and summer, from families who wanted to surrender their dogs over to us that have bitten people. Even close family memebers. Some bites worse than others.

Rancho Luna Lobos, by law, can not accept dogs with bite history from outside Summit County. This is a tough and delicate matter, but we do stand with our Animal Control and their rules. It is heartbreaking, turning dogs away, but this goes beyond what Luna Lobos can do. Thank you all for understanding and for your continued support.

We are hiring for winter! We need another solid musher to join our team this upcoming '24/'25 season.

Job duties:
Kennel cleaning
Guest interaction
Driving sleds (tough course)
Dog care
Must be able to lift 40 lbs min

No sled experience is needed. 90% of the time, it's the newbie that outshines handlers with previous experience.

We are willing to train the right person. We can't teach drive or passion. If you have that, you will be good. Long hours the cold! You will learn more about this sport and it's artform.

This job is not for the faint of heart. It will test you, and you will find out what you are made of. If you are up for the challenge, apply at [email protected]

Teamwork is key to what we do here at camp! This exercise is called our "Blind Dog" activity. Based on our tough lead dog, Humberto, campers have to trust each other!

This boy. My son. Strong in spirit. True colors come out in a crisis, I'd say he's a champ. He jumped in and got to work helping his dad and fire department. Not to mention, we had just finished a 6 mile run. He was tired. He simply said, "Our Rancho, our home is in danger."

We were beyond grateful to have Rohn and Alyssa Buser with visit us this Pioneer Day! These two are probably some of the most genuine and humble people you will meet. We had an incredible time talking about dogs, running a kennel while raising children, and having great conversation. We are grateful to all those who came out to show their support and spend the evening learning more about Rohn and Alyssa's everyday life. A very special thank you to .moyle for her beautiful music, setting such an incredible evening for us all.
This evening was one for the books.
