I’ve been remiss. Noah’s been with us 20 years and today was like his second massage Ever.
Interestingly, he was quite stoic about it, only small lip quivers and releases as Joy Gamache worked on him.
I’m sure that after processing it, he’ll be much more engaged for the next one!

Should we add ger to the lesson program? 😛

I’m sharing an interesting text conversation with a student this morning after sending her a photo I took during our lesson Saturday before heading to Dressagevat Devon.

It’s easy to get caught up in trying to emulate the frame being rewarded today in the show ring. But while I referenced the Old Masters to my student, the current FEI Rulebook Still calls for the positioning of the head “as a rule slightly in front of the vertical, with a supple poll as the highest point of the neck”. I pulled up photos of Reiner Klimke in response as comparison to follow up my point.
Pretty darned close.

A fantastic event tonight!

Dressage / Balance Seat Lessons Available. Brush up on your position and skills, or start the lessons you always wanted to take!! Your horse or ours. Horses at liberty are light on their feet and naturally balanced. However, as soon as we sit in the saddle that natural movement and balance are affected. To enable our mounts to shine and show their natural beauty, We need to educate ourselves to be as balanced and light as we want Them to be. We need to learn to support and control our body independently without hanging on the reins, gripping with our knees and/or heels, or leaning forward or back or collapsing to one side or the other. Learn to ride with your center, your Core, achieving harmony and grace in the saddle.

Achieve this harmony at Chestnut Ridge Equestrian Center with private lessons with a USDF Associate Instructor/trainer. Message the page to contact Lisa Post to start the New Year off right with a weekly lesson schedule. 🙂

Fees: 30 minute lesson with our horse: $60 ($40 w/your own horse) 45 minute lesson with our horse: $75 ($55 w/your own horse)
