𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐬 - The pavement is 20-30 degrees hotter than the air outside. Paws can burn in minutes. The shoes must have rubber bottoms and the material on the top must be breathable mesh. Dogs Do NOT sweat - to release heat they pant and release the heat through their paws. If the shoes are not vented they will overheat the dog.

Also consider donating a pair to a homeless dog. All donations are tax deductible. Dogs Day Out AZ is an non profit that helps the homeless community care for their dogs by providing food and supplies to over 1800 homeless dogs each month all over the valley.
Last summer they went through over 3,000 pairs of dog shoes to protect the dogs paws from severe burns. They need everyone’s help to get the much needed shoes for this summer.

Tia is a dog they ended up having to take into rescue last summer with 3rd Degree burns on all 4 paws and had to have all the pads removed with 3 surgeries to repair her feet. The pain and suffering she endured could have been prevented if she had shoes to wear. Her story is in this link….

National Pet Day on April 11th dedicates the day to those pets who may not always get the companionship and attention pets deserve. While loving our pets is something we do every day, the observance encourages helping out orphaned pet companions. It will improve their health and enhance their opportunities for adoption.
