I’m excited for this! I don’t make my living training horses, but this topic is where my heart is. I love getting horses started on barrels.

I’ll be going over the components of getting a horse broke and how it applies to pattern work and starting them on barrels.

Barrel Clinic was a big success! We had a full house and I was so busy trying to work with everyone, I missed getting a picture. But this is what the sky looks like when I pulled in the driveway at 6:00 PM😭.

I am planning two more clinics at Raine N Dreams farm next year. One in April/May and another in October. Watch this page for updates. I’ll post as soon as we have dates.

Housekeeping details for the clinic tomorrow.

🕺There is no spectator fee. Ok to bring a friend to hang out, too.

🪑If you have a spectator with you, it’s a good idea to bring your own chair.

🍔 Lunch provided. I have sloppy joe’s, chips, bottled water and cookies.

🌡️Tomororw is a high of 45 degree’s. We will be inside, but dress for the temp.

The clinic this weekend will be held indoors. I had high hopes we could be outside, but the rain yesterday, has made it too muddy.

Arena will be open to warm up before the Beginner clinic (before 9:00 am) and during lunch (noon - 1:00).

So thankful Raine N Dreams farm has the indoor option!

MYTRA rodeo #2 for the year.

We had a good bunch of kids beat the heat 🥵, and got a good practice done this morning.

Did some drills working on perfecting our circles and a lot of work on our hands around the barrels.

I had a few kids come that were exceptionally hungry to learn. It makes my day to be able to help them❤️.

Got to work with the kids at the MYTRA (Michigan Youth Teaching Rodeo Association)this past weekend. We had over 30 kids show up for practice! Way more than I have attempted to teach at one time before 😱! Next time we plan on breaking things up to be able to spend more time with each kid.

I did not take the time for any pictures, but one of the mom’s took these.

MYTRA has one rodeo per month through the summer. Next one is in two weeks.

I had a great group of riders and horses who came to learn and work today!

Weather held off for most of the day so we were able to ride outside and the ground was great!

I wanted to thank the parents who drove and hauled kids today. As well as all of the attendee’s who hung in there to the end, even if we got a bit cold and wet… no one complained!

I’m plan on in another fall clinic at this location.
