**🚨 Attention Pet Owners 🚨**

A dog that was recently taken from Lanesborough, Massachusetts near his home has been found in Pennsylvania (thank goodness!). Unfortunately, this eye opening event is a reminder of the importance of keeping our pets safe and secure in this crazy world we live in! Below are a few safety measures that we as pet owners can take.

🐾 **Safety Tips for Pet Owners:**
1. **Update Microchip Info:** Ensure your pet's microchip details are current. It’s a crucial step in reuniting lost pets with their owners.
2. **Microchip Your Pet:** If your pet isn’t microchipped, don’t wait! Look for microchipping events in your area.
3. **Secure Your Yard:** Regularly check fences and gates for gaps or weak spots. Consider adding locks to gates for extra security.
4. **Use Proper Identification:** Make sure your pet always wears a collar with an ID tag, including your current contact information.
5. **Supervise Outdoor Time:** Don’t leave your pet unattended outside, especially in unfamiliar areas.
6. **Be Aware of Your Surroundings:** When outside or walking your pet, stay alert and avoid isolated areas. Keep a close eye on them in busy places.

With the incoming heat wave ☀️, don’t forget to prioritize the safety and well-being of our dogs! 🐶 High temperatures can lead to heatstroke, dehydration, and other health issues in pets 🥵. To protect them, keep dogs indoors in cool, well-ventilated areas and ensure they have constant access to fresh water 💦. Avoid taking them for walks during the hottest parts of the day, and instead opt for early morning or late evening strolls 🦮. Pay attention to signs of overheating, such as excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy, and seek immediate veterinary care if these symptoms appear. Let’s keep our dogs safe together! 🐾
