This special is for all spayed and neutered animals. Dogs will be $50 and cats will be $25 This includes vaccines, worming, flea and tick, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip (for dogs)

Max is a small, 6 yr, Min Pin/Chihuahua mix. He is fixed, house broken, and has lived with both cats and dogs. He has never been around small children. He is good with people, when he gets to know them. Very protective. I have had him since he was a puppy. I am disabled and not able to take care of him. He has his own dog crate, which comes with him.

Over the next few days we will be posting some of our animals "dating" profiles over to get ya'll ready for our BACK TO SCHOOL SALE on Friday, August 16!

From noon to 4 pm all cats and dogs will be 50% off!

That means all cats will be $25 (that are spayed/neutered) and dogs will be just $50 (that are spayed/neutered)! Let's find these babies their forever homes!

Bullwinkle is back from his foster stay and ready for that forever family!

Here's what we've learned from his mini doggy vacay:

🐾 He is very loveable & playful. He loves to run and play ball!
🐾 He doesn't quite realize his size and would fit in best with adults and/or older kids!
🐾 Housebroken
🐾 LOVES chew toys!
🐾 He never howled or barked with his foster family.
🐾 Preferred the grass/carpet over concrete.
🐾 LOVES to hang out on the couch/bed. Cuddling is definitely a part of his love language!
🐾 Walked well on a leash!

Fostering was so good for Bullwinkle, a much needed break. If you're interested in fostering any of our dogs or interested in possibly adopting Bullwinkle, let's chat!

When you're out and about at the fair over the next few days, be sure to stop and check out the animal's dating profiles! And then if we're open, (If we're not, come as soon we we are! 😉 just come on over and meet the one that made you fall in love!

Miss Dolce got to go on a much needed Doggy Day Out this morning. She did fabulous walking around town and taking in the sights.

Dolce has a difficult time inside of her kennel, (Which is a prime example of why first impressions are not always the best thing to go by!) but once you get her out and and about she is as sweet as honey.

Dolce is one of our longer residents currently, coming from a not great situation previously. She is just awaiting the right person to give her the love and kindness she deserves.

Come on out and meet Dolce sometime, we're sure she will win your heart lie she has ours!

FYI: The shelter does not delete comments unless they are mean spirited or unnecessary. You will have one warning and then be blocked from our page.

We do turn off comments on lost and found pets so that people will comment to the original poster. There is a delay in the time from when the post is made and the comments get turned off. No fault of ours, contact Facebook if there is a problem.

Also if you contact the shelter and are rude and cursing at any staff we will provide you one warning to be nice and then we will hang up on you.

There is never any call to curse someone that is trying to gather information to make the best decisions just because you feel you are more entitled than the next person. We can only go by the information we are given and if someone is lying there is no way to refute that until after the fact.

We are all doing the best we can with what there is to work with. Be kind, there is no excuse not to be.

Just because our page was a little busy yesterday with missing/found animals, we didn't want anyone to miss this!

It's the time of year where the days are filled with fair activities, back-to-school busyness and everything in between ON TOP of the squelching heat and moods can sometimes get a little cranky.

The only thing we ask during this time is to please be kind. A little bit of kindness can go a long way, to everyone.

We know there are dogs and cats all over this county missing from homes or "strays" that need to come into the shelter. Unfortunately, we have waitlists for both. Shelters are full across the country and we are doing are best to help care for them and share proper resources.

As always, while there are dogs that get dumped, we should never assume a stray is a dumped dog. The best thing to do is post a picture in the Mason County WV Lost & Found Animals group here on Facebook. You can also share pictures on Petco Love Lost , PawBoost, 24 Petconnect, and similar sites.

*We also recommend using caution and common sense around unknown dogs and not just scooping them into your vehicle.*

Bullwinkle has been spending some time with a sweet family for the past few days.

"He's been a different dog each day. He tends to follow us and wants to keep an eye on us. He's been great with the boys!"

The difference fostering can make in a dog’s life is phenomenal. You can see Bullwinkle living his best life with this family compared to the last photo of him in his kennel (the day he pulled the family's momma's heart strings) shows the tremendous impact fostering makes!

PUPDATE! Bear Bear is doing well in his new home! His new family said he's had a bath and been brushed all out, and is doing great with the kids and is being spoiled beautifully! 🥰

So happy!!! Sassyfrass if going to be adopted into her foster family and she couldn't be happier!!! ❤❤❤

Lara

Lara is looking for a foster home where she can continue to get better. Preferably a home with no other dogs as she has not been able to be vaccinated due to her skin condition. She takes a once monthly pill and would need to be bathed twice weekly in special shampoo that we would provide. If you would be interested in becoming a foster, please contact the shelter directly. Thank you

We still have 2 little chihuahua mixes available. They are both in foster and they love playing with other dogs and each other!!

This is Reese. He has been here 460 days waiting on a family. He acts like a tough guy with new people but as you can see, he is the biggest love bug. He loves cuddles and kisses and he is so happy when he is getting them. Don't let his size and manner put you off on having a great loving dog. He just needs patience and kindness to become your best friend.

Crockett is learning new tricks at the shelter including Army crawl. It is easy to teach a dog that is treat or toy motivated!!

The kittens will definitely be getting their exercise, stimulation and amusement with the new cat wheel!!! Go kitty go!!!

Blake

Our senior sweetie Blake got to go on Doggy Day Out and he did so well. This boy is the sweetest, gentlest, kindest dog. If you can open your heart to a senior dog you will be truly blessed in knowing you provided love, care and happiness to your life and theirs. Will post pictures in comments

Just look at how sweet and cute these babies are!!!!! We have 6 females and 2 males still available for adoption!!!! Their fee is $100.00 and includes spay/neuter, all vaccinations, worming, flea treat and microchipping!!!!

Scared

This little cutie is a prime example of why we need some very calm, patient volunteers. Hopefully you can see how much this dog is shaking in the video. She ended up climbing up in my lap but as soon as she heard a loud noise she jumped off and I could not coax her back in my lap in the time we had.

Barney

Our cute little hairless beagle Barney is doing fabulous! His hair is growing in great and he loves to play!!! Sorry about the dog barking in the background and Leon trying to be naughty with Zoey lol 😅
