Sam after his Oral Health Procedure

This is Sam Elliot a couple of weeks after his Oral Health Procedure. As you will remember in the previous video, Sam came to his mommy as a senior and had some pretty significant health problems. Along with Dr Rand, his new mommy was able to eradicate his ailments and he is now a new and improved version of himself! Dr Rand removed 14 teeth (an obvious source of chronic pain for Sam) during his Oral Health Procedure and now he is feeling much better! *Thanks to Sam's mommy who allowed us to share his wonderful story!*

This is Sam Elliot. He came to us when his new mommy adopted him from a shelter at 12 years old and noticed he was not feeling well. He was, as we say in the veterinary field, "dumpy." His mom thought he was moving slow and was worried. Dr Rand found fleas and recommended to treat his skin infection. He also noticed that Sam had several broken teeth and Sam was scheduled for an Oral Health Procedure later in the month. After running pre-surgical lab work, Dr Rand discovered he also had a pretty significant intestinal parasite infection and Sam's mommy gave Sam all of the medications he needed. Sam was doing better when he was admitted for his Oral Health Procedure later in the month but he was still "dumpy." This is a video of him before the procedure. You can see that his head is down and his tail is tucked. He appears to be tired and sluggish... The next video of Sam shows him after his Oral Health Procedure...

Harley receives his bi-weekly cold laser therapy for arthritis

Have you ever heard of LASER THERAPY?!?! Did you know that cold laser therapy is a useful tool many doctors, aestheticians, occupational therapists, and even veterinarians recommend to help a wide variety of diseases and symptoms?? This month, our focus is arthritis and senior care. In the video, Harley, a 14 year old Pug, receives bi-weekly treatments with the cold laser to help relieve the symptoms of his arthritis. Here is some information from Sally, our Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), on cold laser therapy: "Cold Laser Therapy is used to treat a wide range of conditions such as, osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease. degenrative disc disease, hip dysplasia, dermatologic disorders (lick granuloma, hot spot), acute/chronic otitis (ear infection), periodontal disease, post-operative healing, and acute traumas (sprains, ruptured ligaments). Cold Laser Therapy is used to alleviate pain and inflammation, reduces swelling, stimulates nerve regeneration and cells, reduces healing time and may decrease the need for surgery or medications. It offers a drug free option and is extremely well tolerated by pets." Call us today for more information on Cold Laser Therapy or reserve an appointment to discuss this with your veterinarian.
