I'm Sharon Short with Loyal Excursions, a Dog Trainer, and behaviorist based right here in Port Royal and the greater Beaufort area. I couldn't imagine being a part of the community any other way than helping to keep our canine companions healthy and fulfilled - therefore happy. We all love our mutts and pedigrees but sometimes there’s something we want to improve on in their behavior or obedience

so Fido can become a great member of society - let me help. I do consultations to understand your family’s and your dog’s specific needs before we make a game plan and accomplish your goals with an emphasis on you and the dog working as a harmonious, communicative team. I specialize in behavior modification and have experience working with simple household nuisance behavior to reactive dogs and bad resource guarding, as well as teaching useful commands and throwing in fun tricks. No breed is out of my reach as I have experience with more than 50 different breeds and their mixes. With the right technique tailored to the specific canine I work with 4lb puppies all the way up to adult Mastiffs, Great Danes and Anatolian Shepherds. I also pet-sit most indoor pets as well as some outdoor feathery and hoofed creatures.

Training Brozio and Zane, two of the Gergle’s herding dogs, is always a treat! Tuesday we went to the Oscar Frasier park to gain some experience with dogs and people in a social setting - I’m very impressed with how they did! Then we went downtown and ended up at the Wright Family Park for a perfect ending to the wonderful day! They are doing so well with the exercise and mental challenges as we train them to be more accepting of many environments. ☺️🏅👍🏼

On a nice long excursion for exercise, enrichment, and continuing training. It turned out to be such a lovely evening and I found many moments that I was so proud of Sherlock for his good behavior! ✨

Our Story

I'm Sharon Short with Loyal Excursions, an avid dog lover, behaviorist and trainer, and I couldn't imagine being a part of the community any other way than helping to keep our canine companions healthy and fulfilled - therefore happy. That's why I started this business conveniently within walking distance of anywhere in the Old Port Royal area. We all love our mutts and pedigrees but sometimes our weeks get busy and Fido gets restless or mopey, let me help; I'll come to your home and make sure everything is lined up for your pup's specific needs before we go out to the stirring streets of Paris Avenue, or the quiet trails towards the Sands Beach. The charges aren't a lot and the reward goes all around - the pet is happy, you are happy, and I get to spend time with my favorite domesticated species. Charge for walks per dog: $17 = per Hour, $8 = each additional dog $11 = per 30 Minutes I specialize in breeds from Pit-bull-types and large Labradors to Shih tzus and Chihuahuas
