Jynx's story:
Jynx came to us in the winter of 2009 or 2010. One night as my husband and I were outside on our porch, an orange cat came strolling by. We called to him and to our surprise he came running right up to us. It was clear then that he wasn't a stray cat for too long. It was around 20 degrees that night. He was very cold and very hungry. He had some b
ad wounds on the back of his head and he was very emaciated. We ended up taking him in. Cleaned his wounds and fed him. We kept Shadow and him separated that night. We planned on taking him to our local animal rescue in the morning. After dropping him off, my husband and I talked for a while about adopting him if no one claimed him. I already had Shadow, who I've had before my husband and I met, and I wasn't sure how well she would do with a stranger cat coming into her home. But, we ended up going back and adopting Jynx! This past year, Jynx got very ill and we found out he had terrible gum disease and diabetes. With the help of many in donations and the help of a wonderful woman, Noel, Jynx got his dental surgery and by changing his diet, his diabetes is currently in remission!! We thank everyone who had helped in any way! Shadow's Birthday: 4/22/2006
Shadow's story:
I had adopted Shadow when she was a kitten, from an ex boyfriend's friend. She came from a large litter of 7 kittens. The mother cat was an indoor/outdoor cat. The kittens were the result of an owner who did not get her cat spayed. My mother at the time also had adopted 2 of Shadow's siblings. A girl, Baby and a boy, Leo. Unfortunately my mother didn't feel as though she could care for them any longer and adopted them both out together to a nice family with children when they were 2-3 months old. Shadow is now 8 years old and I have always fought to keep her even when faced with mean landlords who didn't want pets. Shadow holds a very special place in my heart, as so does Jynx now. Shadow and Jynx really are apart of our family, not just pets!! Jynx is estimated to be 4-5 years old. He is a mellow (yet can be energetic) and very loving male orange DSH who we rescued. Shadow is 8 years old. She is a female Maine C**n mix that I adopted since I was 16. She is prissy, calm, shy and regal. Both of them are large domestic cats.
