This is non-negotiable. The safety of our team and your dogs are paramount. If you think this is silly by all means, take your dog for walks in full afternoon sun, but please make sure you are barefoot to get the full effect.

Word of caution. If you try and foster an enjoyable work environment and a less rigid approach to management then you wind up coming home from vacation to 200 tiny ducks hidden throughout your house. This is gonna take a while….

While I may be at the helm, I could not do this without my all women team. Most of them do this while simultaneously working another job and/or raising a family as well. I’m not one for mixing personal views with business, but this one is close to home for me. As you likely know I was diagnosed in 2019, and went through a lot to get to the other side. I remain in a status called “no evidence of disease” when I do my annual scans. Cancer survivors all have to live with the possibility of recurrence which is an awful mental battle and burden in itself.

As all forms of cancer become more prevalent I leave you with this piece of advice when encountering a friend or family member actively battling cancer. Just go help them with stuff. Go mow their lawn, send them to a movie and clean their house, hire a maid to clean their house, do their laundry, fix stuff they’ve put off for years, go get their car oil changed for them. There’s a multitude of ways to do this, but you just have to do it. If you ask a person battling cancer “let me know if you need anything” you’ll never hear from them even though they would appreciate help. Pride is a tricky thing. Just insert yourself in a helpful way. They will appreciate it.

11 ducklings on a dog walk!

If you saw my post a few weeks ago I said I was going to get to take care of a fish hatchery. Everything’s been going well. It was a 4 day stint, but today was the last day and overnight 2 adults laid more eggs! Already HUNDREDS of fry growing out currently and these guys were like here’s some more! lol Here’s a video of them tending to their eggs. I enjoyed my time doing something unique. Back to dogs tomorrow!
