Bolton/Richmond/Huntington: Please keep a look out for Remy! See notes below.
đRemy is home!!!đ
9 days. My dog went missing for 9 days. Now, it would be remiss if I didnât mention that within perspective- there are people going through more than this who would gladly trade places with the situation I was in. I donât take for granted the incredible blessing it is to be missing a lost dog - as weird as that sounds.
I didnât expect the wave of emotions that I felt to be as intense as they were - hope, fear, being afraid to do more, and being terrified to quit; crying at my desk at work, crying in the car, pumping people up because it pumped me up too, crying in my friends office at work because it all felt like too much. I tried to maintain perspective, while hoping, and bracing myself for âwhat was the right time to put Remyâs bed away if we didnât find himâ. The permission I gave myself to feel all of this was⌠like a 6 out of 10 YELP review⌠not all there, would definitely try again to give myself that permission, and way messier than I would have liked, and the coleslaw sucked.
The biggest thing that absolutely overwhelmed every part of my being - is how many angels have decided to live on earth, and call Vermont their home. Complete strangers, taking their own time to help search, taking their own safety at risk by (among other things) being out in the cold, and driving through a mo*********ng flood zone, taking their hard earned breaks from work to drive around. Time is a finite resource- thatâs not something we can get more of at the bank. And you spent your own time to help us. What the hell did I ever do that was so special to be lifted up by so many people? Yeah I know⌠ego⌠you did it for Remy⌠fair⌠me too. đ
To everyone who forwarded an email, or a FPF post, or shared something on Facebook, who spent time searching, time driving, time hoping, time praying, who asked âhow you doin, man?â - you make the world better. I am in awe of all of you, and will work hard to emulate the kindness you showed us over the past 9 days. THANK YOU!
