Meet Indie! ⭐
Indie is a 7-month-old French Bulldog who was rescued by Save-A-Pet Animal Shelter from a hoarding situation a few months ago. Due to her past living conditions, Indie has combined congenital and developmental vertebral and spinal cord changes. As a result, Indie has an abnormal gait that is characterized by ataxia (an uncoordinated gait) and paraparesis (muscular weakness).
The good news is that Indie is now being lovingly fostered by an EEVC team member and is receiving excellent care through EEVC's physical therapy and rehabilitation program. Thanks to the combined efforts of the shelter and her dedicated foster, Indie is making wonderful progress and thriving on her rehab journey.
While Indie may not have a “perfect gait,” she doesn’t let that slow her down and is perfect in every other way.
If you’re interested in giving Indie a forever home, please reach out to Save-A-Pet for adoption details.

Have you ever seen a fish eating a cucumber? 🐡
This Albino Bristlenose Pleco is 8-years-old and he LOVES cucumbers. It doesn't take long and he polishes one off! He doesn't actually use the fork that came with it, that was just part of the place setting! 🤣
The only thing missing from this little guy's life is a name.
Please offer some suggestions in the comments below. 👇
July 4th festivities can be a lot of fun for the whole family, including our pets!
However, with all of the activities, our pets' safety may be at risk. The fireworks, especially, can be a source of terror for many dogs. 🎆
Here are some ways to help keep your pets safe, calm, and comfortable during the celebration. https://bit.ly/39QO4yA

This week was a important week and one all of us a East End Veterinary Center were glad to be a part of. As a team we put together K-9 first aid kits containing supplies needed for K-9 units and officers in Suffolk County. We also provided training on how to utilize the kits in the field to enable immediate critical care until a injured dog can be transported to a vet. Everybody in the hospital did something, and our goal was to help our community by donating these much needed emergency kits. Our hospital works with these officers and their K-9's and we're glad to partner on this project to provide these first aid kits again this year.
Happy Mother's Day from all of us at East End Veterinary Center! May you enjoy all the hugs, kisses or licks of appreciation on your special day.
Romeo plays fetch!
Romeo was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 8-months-old and is currently recovering from a Femoral Head Osteotomy, which should help to relieve pain and increase weight bearing and mobility. He is working with our rehab team to aid in his healing process and LOVES playing fetch in the water treadmill. Look at him go!
Tiger getting back on his paws
Tiger is doing so well with his rehab exercises on the treadmill! After being hit by a car, he suffered pelvic fractures and a sciatic nerve injury; nothing that our physical rehab team couldn't handle! You can see how his left hind leg is now able to support weight and gait in coordination with his other legs. Keep up the good work, Tiger!
Lukas Walks to the Car!
Remember Lukas who herniated a disk and is now with Sandra Dowd and our rehab team to help regain strength and function? He has improved so much and is now able to walk with assistance to the car! He makes small improvements every day and we are so proud of him. Look at him go!
Lukas Finds His Ball
When Lukas herniated a disk, it did not become obvious until he began showing neurological signs a few weeks ago. He underwent surgery at our hospital with Dr. Rosemary Lombardi to fix the damage and is now with Sandra Dowd and our rehab team to help regain strength and function. As of now he cannot stand, walk, or bring himself to food, but we are working with him to help change that. Part of the process includes fun games like this to encourage muscle movement and mental stimulation! He did a great job!
Playtime with Freyja
Now that the weather is nice, we get to do more and more one on one playtime at Chateau Des Paws! Freyja is enjoying all the attention during her doggie vacation and loves to play fetch. She could do this all day!
Baby Robin's Dinner Time!
Colleen found a new friend in this baby robin! This little guy was found outside his nest with no mama bird around. A Good Samaritan brought him to our 24/7 emergency services and it seems as though Colleen is taking his mom's place! It takes him a few times to get that yummy worm but he's learning! Remember, always give us a call first before picking up and removing a wild animal from its location. Not all wild animals that look lost and alone are!
Playtime at Chateau Des Paws
It's playtime at our pet hotel and daycare, Chateau Des Paws. Great catch, Ace!

We will have paw print flower painting, prize drawings, discount coupons, and more! Bring your pet along and he or she can have playtime with us just like Oakley here!
Cleocatra Improves Her Mobility!
Remember Cleocatra, the 14-year-old cat that we suspect experienced some sort of neurological trauma and initially came to us completely immobile? Take a look at all of her amazing progress! She is breezing through her physical rehabilitation exercises and is an amazing inspiration to all of us. We couldn't be more proud!
