UPDATE: WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT CHEWY AND AMAZON STILL HAVE OUR OLD SHIPPING ADDRESS. WE ARE WORKING ON GETTING IT CHANGED (AGAIN)
UPDATE: WE HAVE A CASE OF CANNED PUPPY FOOD. THE SMALLEST PUP IS 2.6 POUNDS THE BIGGEST ONE IS 3.7 POUNDS
Ok Puppies are all checked in here lol. They do have hook worms so the worming has started. These babies are tiny. Didn't pull the scale out yet but would say they are less than five pounds. Have some mild skin issues going on. Got them fed with some critical nutrition and some dry food. First round of worm meds and some flea and tick meds. We could use some XL puppy pads and a few cans of canned puppy food to supplement the dry food with. Going through a lot of Purina complete puppy dry food right now too. Welcome our four new little girls.
Please spay/neuter. We are tired of getting pictures like this every day. Yep 4 puppies (person says mom dead) incoming. It will be our last open (emergency kennel) spot. Next pictures we get we won't be able to help because of not one open place to put ANYTHING
Mange babies having some play time. With being in strict quarantine it is nice to see them out running and playing
Well the two mange pups found in a field are doing much better. finally getting some hair back.
First State Animal Center and SPCA has helped more of our local dogs than any other rescue partner in the last three to four years. Please feel free to nominate them so they can continue to help our homeless pets. Thank You

Another community outreach
Not animals but community related. Enfield NC PD hosting a gathering at the park in Enfield. Free hot dogs, chips and drinks. Inflatables for the kids and a whirly bird will be on sight.
Shelley says my tongue is dirty from that stick lol
Little skinny boy Tucker also likes to sit and have a conversation. He has the cutest little face. Hard to believe that in just 10 days he pretty much doubled his weight.
Our little skin and bones boy has put some weight on.
Little Shelley that was pulled from animal control after not being reclaimed is out doing zoomies to burn off some energy before bed time. The first video was too blurry trying to keep up with her lol. If you would like to donate toward her vetting please feel free to paypal [email protected] or by mail PO Box 972, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870
ADOPTED
Something to smile about this wet, dreary day: a week of good food and care has allowed Tucker to bounce back. He sends love to everyone. Stay safe.
Available for rescue or adoption now at Halifax County Animal Control. Spay/neuter contract is required to adopt from them.
We shouldn't have to post this but just a friendly reminder
Our newest foster baby, Miss Shelley, out for her morning walk. She is 12 weeks old, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Shelley is working on her leash skills and has been doing great with house training. If interested please apply at rainbowanimalrescue.org
Who is missing a black poodle looking dog??? There is one at animal control. If this is your dog please go and reclaim it. If interested in adopting after the stray hold you would need to go to animal control to meet the dog. No I don't have pictures. Would be nice if there were pictures to share on the health departments page and ours. Just saying
This group just stepped and took five of the nine tinies that were found. They also networked to find a rescue for the other four. That was nine tinies lives that depended on someone stepping up. We had worked on an emergency one day bottle feeder while we networked to find a rescue that could handle their delicate care. If you can chip in to help them with expenses it would be great.
π¨ Urgent Rescue Alert! π¨
Yesterday, we received a heartbreaking call: 9 newborn puppies, abandoned at a construction site with their umbilical cords still attached, were on the brink of being taken to a shelter where they would face immediate euthanasia.
We couldn't let that happen.
In a team effort with Perfectly Imperfect Pups, we split the litter to save them all. After intake at the nursery, PIPs took 4 puppies, leaving 5 with BTBB. They were immediately assessed and given essential medications to support their fragile health.
π These tiny lives are depending on us. π
While they appear healthy and are eating well, two puppies are runts, and one was severely dehydrated. Taking in these 9 puppies is a significant strain on our resources.
We need your help.

Our focus the last 18 hours has been on Tucker. He was so weak on arrival we were not sure he would make it. In foster care, fluids, a heating pad, and nutrical turned the tide for him. He finally ate some food early this morning. We are feeding small meals of critical care food and chicken (he likes π). It will be a long road for his recovery. If you can donate to his care please do. PayPal to [email protected]. Snail mail to PO Box 972, Roanoke Rapids NC 27870
Cuteness overload! Pup Amelie out playing with Low Low. Two more days and we can breath easy that they weren't parvo exposed. They will be going to the vet the week of the 3rd. Amelie has a meet and greet the following week. You have to love the facial expressions on this one.
So far all three dogs/pups pulled from animal control are staying healthy. Little Amelie out playing with one of her babies and burning off some puppy energy.
Low Low is Such a sweet laid back girl. A little shy when meeting people the first time but opens right up within a few minutes. Almost has wire haired doxie look to her. If interested please go to rainbowrescue.org to fill out an application.
Amelie is Full of energy little bundle. We really don't know what she is mixed with and cannot say how big she will get. I think she is going to be short and stocky. If interested in adopting please go to rainbowrescue.org to fill out an application.
Low Low that was hiding under the bed in the loud over crowded shelter is so happy to be out. She is a little shy meeting new people but opens up within a few minutes.
The five littles have made it to foster. Got this video of them getting ready for transport. I would say they are ready to eat. Foster will have her hands full but will send some updates once all is settled in. Anyone wishing to donate toward the supply expenses please feel free to paypal [email protected] or venmo Rainbow Rescue@Rainbow-Rescue
Fleas anyone? We could use another bottle of frontline puppy spray. Most of our puppies come in looking like this and it is one of the sprays that is safe for them. You can see the fleas still crawling even after the first round of spray. They look a lot better today after their second spray down. Only about six weeks old and shouldn't be having to live with flea and tick infestations like this. We have to do better.
A little TLC and fresh air have made a big difference in the scared ones. Still a little timid but doing 100 percent better.
Since we had rescue partners take a few we got the two scared pups plus these two that had been there for a month out. Their time was up tomorrow.
