Attention owners of kittens from 1B23, your kitties celebration of 1 year of life is quickly approaching!! We would like to give you an opportunity to write up a quick explanation on why your kitty should be the best pick of the litter!
For their birthday, we will post your point with a current picture of them. The poll will run for 2 days starting on their birthday, July 9th at 9am EST. So we will need your entries emailed to us no later than July 7th.
We will also post a kitten picture alongside their current picture. A tip for success, try to use the same pose in each before and after picture. If you already have a kitten picture you'd like to use, make sure to send that with your entry. If not, reach out to us and we will send you a few pictures to pick from.

Saying goodbye to our Venus today, or should I say Bluebell. 🤣 She just landed in Chicago to go home to Bershanardi oriental and peterbald to have her own babies one day. She's currently enjoying the spring water in the USO bringing joy to our traveling brothers and sisters in arms on this humble Memorial Day.

Mom and her 4 babies are doing swell. Any guesses on the theme for litter 1D24? It didn't take me long to decide this time. Hint: the theme we name the kittens from is based on mom.
For example, Tooka is named from a breed of cat in Star Wars, and her litter themes will be space related. Her first litter was named after objects in our local solar system, her next litter may be named after objects in our galaxy etc.
Freya acts like an old lady, so her kittens were all popular names in the 1920's. Choosing themes is a fun way for us to remember what kittens came from who years later, some people go through the alphabet and the first litter will have all names that start with A etc, and that works great for them. But I like having more creative freedom. 🤣
Our family doesn't watch Netflix, we sit around and brainstorm animal names. These cats are very special and unique and deserve special and unique names in my opinion. But we understand what is special and unique to us, might be a nightmare name for you. Go ahead and rename them, we love seeing what people come up with. ❤️❤️ As long as they are clearly loved, which based on all of our wonderful updates, I would say they are all lucky cats if they are named Glizzy or Fleur.

Ok we are back from our break, let's see if we broke Metas algorithm and they stop sending us scammers and more people than we could have the chance to respond to.
The cats out of the bag! We've been holding onto this surprise, we mated White Hot with plans for another date in the morning since it was their first time, then we woke up to a sick kitten so we held off on breeding her again. Turns out that's all she needed! We wanted to make sure mom and babies were good to go and that the necropsy was good before we spread the word. She's due any day now. ❤️

Mom: White hot is a seal lynx point and white, she carries chocolate, solid, and dilute.
Dad: Mr. Breezy is a chestnut and white classic tabby. He does not carry solid, but he does carry cinnamon.
So this will be an all tabby/lynx point litter with seal/ebony and chocolate/chestnut as color options.

Our vet has been awesome squeezing us in here and there to have everyone checked out. Cornell is still doing their work up, but the kittens have been great entertainment this week. All the results we've received so far have come back negative.

With great sadness, little Oberon, Mr. Head in the clouds has crossed the rainbow bridge. We exhausted every resource, until it was obvious the last thing he needed was to just be held. Still awaiting PCR results, but it did not present as an upper respiratory infection. We spent the day today driving him to Cornell to see if they can provide any answers.

Hey everyone, we've been crazy busy. Most importantly taking care of this little guy. Oberon has been feeling under the weather after his first vaccine. He's got a nice little sauna and a buffet of food that he will gladly wear on his chin. He had plenty of purs this morning and enjoyed some chin scratches, but he's still pretty tuckered out.
We also have 42 chicks in the brooder now, we came across some with poopy butt that we had to take home and fix, they are all happy now.
I'm glad we skipped kidding season with the goats, but we do have 2 rabbits expecting.
Kitten room is ready for paint and floors now, then we get to finish their catio.
The 5 ducks and 16 chickens got moved today to new part of the apple/grape orchard, they seem impressed.
Somehow recovery from surgery is still going well. 😹

Terra is yelling at Kasei. Kasei must have told everyone their crow friends were outside, when indeed they were not. They await eagerly. We have the crows coming to the blue target for treats, they help protect our outside animals from bald eagles and coyotes in exchange for peanuts. LGC- livestock guardian crows. Good bro crows.

Do you guys wanna see baby birbs too? The cats got some new egg printers today. That brings us up to 5 ducks, 14 chickens, 2 roosters, 18 babies (12 are prairie bluebell, 6 starlight green). We also have 24 hatching eggs on the way from 2 different breeders that we are the most excited for. That will be it for laying chickens for a while. If you don't care about baby birbs, we'll stop posting them. You can see we use the cat litter for everything.

This is Zelda. She's certainly not an OSH, but when we got the call from Pam Kent Cook at the local shelter that she was getting put down the following day. Well, we were looking for a barn cat to protect our farm animals food anyways. She's been with us since the summer, still loving life. Perhaps we'll find her a friend this summer.
The teething is strong with these ones. They were much happier when redirected to toys over my sweatshirt.
Tookas after nursing zoomies are out of this world. 😹
