Another Friday, another Furry Fact!

This is our first weekly Furry Fact!

Double coats are cool, and not just because they make a dog super soft - they also act as a natural form of insulation! This helps keep dogs warm in the winter and cool in the summer by trapping the air around them and regulating their body temperature. In the summer months, these plush coats also help prevent sunburn and bug bites if properly maintained.

These benefits are often lost with a lack of proper care. Double-coated breeds should be brushed every other day and professionally groomed at least once every 12 weeks to prevent matting and remove dead undercoat. This will keep your doggo healthy and can help prevent bacterial infections, over-heating, and skin issues!
