Few tips to get thru the next two days of weather:

🚶 Get your good walks in early morning or after the sun goes down
💦 Fresh water in clean bowls
💨 Fans and ACs on
🧸 Play games inside like Find It with their favorite toys
😴 Let them rest.

A few days of going easy will not ruin your pup. Hannah is modeling how she likes to beat the heat 🤣🐾🫶🏻

Did you all notice the rain this weekend? That’s because even God & Mother Nature were crying because the most majestic Nashville finished his time here on earth.

Nashville was not a dog I walked, he was a friend. Over a decade ago, I was lucky enough to be the volunteer that did the home visit for his mom. I’ll remember that day forever and not because of the house. Because of his mom Amanda.
If a dog and a human were ever meant to be together- it’s Nash and Amanda. To watch what they both did for each other, it’s really hard to put into words.
He lost his fight with illnesses this weekend and so many hearts are breaking. The number of people from my rescue days who’ve reached out asking how they can message Amanda is overwhelming. Thats because this dog, this beautiful sweet mush of a brown dog, brought love into this world.

Godspeed Nashville. You are the bestest boy. Watch over her, send her the signs she’s going to need. And thank you for being the best friend to my friend 🐾🫶🏻

In all my worrying about the weather, I was a bad dog walker yesterday 😞

I totally missed it was my 4 year walk-aversary with Fiona!!! I wish I could find the very first picture we took together because it would show a story.

Fiona is very much her own personality. She doesn’t let you in right away, you have to earn her trust. And, you have to understand the ways she communicates. If Fi doesn’t bark at me when I come in the house, I worry something’s wrong. That’s just her way.
So everybody please help me say thank you to Fiona! Thank you for letting me earn your love and trust. You’ve been an amazing teacher and I can’t wait for the next four(hundred) years of walking with you 🫶🏻🐾

Yesterday when I posted about the dogs letting me know the weather was getting uncomfortable, a couple of friends messaged me asking what I meant. So here’s my example…

Miss Zoey is easy breezy. Literally nothing bothers her. So when I saw how fast she finished her business and then ran to the slider door, that’s when I knew she was good.
We still played, she had fresh water and we worked on her impressive training skills.

I don’t make adjustments to walks lightly. I make them because I love each and every client I have and I want them safe and healthy.

Officially calling it- the rest of today will be limited outside time. The breeze is nice however, the dogs are all starting to tell me it’s too much for them!
So bathroom breaks, shaded yard time, indoor playing and SO MUCH WATER!

Carrigan's K-9s is a full service dog walking business in the South Shore area of Massachusetts. We provide personalized walks that suit your dogs needs. We also provide pet care for cats and other small animals. Duties include feedings, cleaning of cages and litter boxes, and grooming.

We also provide in-your-home pet sitting. If you have to travel and cannot bring your pets with you, let them keep their normal routines by having us come to you!
