Happy Holidays for the puppies. All 6 found furever homes.
Congrats to Strider (now Dallas) on finding a fantastic new furever home. You can see his friends at https://www.adoptapet.com/shelter/88433/available-pets.
Alex's House is once again joining BuCART for a microchipping clinic (Alex's House) and dog wash (BuCART). Microchipping for cats and dogs (16 weeks or older), $20 per pet is a donation to Alex's House Dog Rescue.
So join us this Saturday, August 5th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Rose Hill Fire Station (911 N. Rose Hill Rd. )
On Monday, Alex's House received a call that a little dog named Sophie had been found. Both 24PetWatch and Alex's House began reaching out to the owner, and everyone was reunited within the hour thanks to Sophie's microchip, which was done during an Alex's House microchip clinic in conjunction with a BuCART dog wash.
So join Alex's House and BuCART at Andover Fire-Rescue (911 N. Andover Rd. Andover KS) Saturday, July 8 from 10 am to 2 pm. BuCART will be washing pups for a $10 suggested donation, handing out preparedness packets, window clings and rescue whistles. Alex's House Dog Rescue will be there and microchip pets 16 weeks and older for $20 per pet.
"Her wings were ready. Our hearts were not." Our beautiful Kansa said good-bye last night. She was an escape artist. Until a couple of years ago, she could jump four-foot farm fencing from a standstill in a single bound. She loved to have her ears and cheeks rubbed. And her tail wagged no matter what. We wanted it to wag forever.
Sweet Zoe at Alex's House is looking for her forever family.
Pictures of Zoe a Boxer for adoption in Rosalia, KS who needs a loving home.
Congrats to Oriel who as a great new home. She is a pretty shy girl, but her new family says she has warmed up to them and is doing great.
BuCART dog washes are back in 2023. And Alex's House is super excited to join BuCART. Alex's House will be microchipping dogs and cats 16 weeks and older. $20 per pet.
This will all happen at El Dorado Fire Station Two, 2600 W. Sixth this Saturday, June 10th from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Hope to see you there!
We wanted to share these best holiday wishes with everyone. This is Pumpkin sending us all love.
Please join Alex's House and the Butler County Animal Response Team (BuCART) Saturday, March 11 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Tractor Supply in Augusta (Kansas). Alex's House will be microchipping dogs and cats over 12 weeks old. Microchipping is $20 per pet. BuCART will have handouts and information on preparing a disaster plan and disaster kit for your family and pets.
Thanks to everyone who has been celebrating January with the Alex's House Lonely Hearts Club. They are backing out of January with Backwards Day.
It's January 30th--National Bubble Wrap Day. Jenny, Malcolm, Sam and Bingo are looking for a special delivery someday to their new furever homes.
So, we tried celebrating National Puzzle Day, today, January 29th, and we found that our Lonely Hearts Club needs a little more practice with puzzles.
John and Jenny celebrating National Kazoo Day (January 28th).
It's January 27th--Chocolate Cake Day. And since doggies CAN'T HAVE CHOCOLATE, they can't really celebrate. So for all the humans out there. Grab some chocolate cake or anything chocolate, enjoy, and join Alex's House in a belated celebration of Elizabeth, Emily (now Harley), Rosie, and Violet (now Pumpkin) in finding furever homes over the holidays. We hope the Lonely Hearts Club will have the same celebration soon.
Here's Bingo sporting his best look for Clashing Clothes Day (January 26th).
Thanks to our friends at BCC Library for helping us celebrate National Shelfie Day (January 25th).
The books selected were:
Sam--Spencer Quinn's Of Mutts and Men
Bingo--Kathi Appelt's The True Blue Scouts of Sugar Man Swamp
Malcolm--Greg Pak's Firefly: The Unification War
Jenny--Watty Piper's The Little Engine that Could
It's January 24th, and we all have our different ways of celebrating Cheesy Sock Day.
Alex's House celebrated January 23rd, National Pie Day, with homemade, dog-safe pumpkin pies. Jenny, Sam, Malcolm, and Bingo say "Yum!"
Does your cat have questions? Today, January 22nd, is Answer Your Cat's Question Day. The Alex's House Lonely Hearts Club thought they would try to help out with some answers.
It's National HUG Day (January 21st). So hopefully everyone can hug their puppies (or kitties or any pet you love). Our Lonely Hearts Club members are all hugs today too and hoping for a furever family for future hugs tomorrow and beyond.
Today, January 20th, is Penguin Awareness Day. Unfortunately, a trip to Antarctica for everyone wasn't a possibility. So, they put on their best penguin suits!
Happy Popcorn Day! (January 19th) Alex's House celebrated with Sam, Malcolm, and Jenny. They enjoyed some salt-free popcorn as a special treat.
January is Train Your Dog Month. Our Lonely Hearts Club is making some progress with the basics--"sit" and "lie down"--and Sam has mastered it all.
The dogs kept good time with the polka music for National Polka Music Month. If you're able to watch the entire video, all of them, especially Sam, seem to have a good sense of timing. Great additions to any music-loving family.
Bingo is celebrating January 16th, Appreciate a Dragon Day, by getting a dragon. Check out his video. If anyone is looking for a dragonslayer/cuddler, Bingo's your guy.
It's January 15 and we hope everyone is wearing their favorite hat for National Hat Day. Sam and Jenny decided to go sparkly. Malcolm went the more traditional top hat route.
Sam, Jenny, and Malcolm celebrated Dress up Your Pet Day (January 14) by dressing up. Sam, a lover of history, chose a pharaoh outfit. Jenny went cool with a steampunk look. Malcolm paid homage to his namesake, donning a pirate hat and ship.
It's January 13th and that means it's Rubber Duckie Day. The Alex's House Lonely Hearts Club are getting all clean and happy in hopes of finding a new home!
It's January 12th and that means it's National Hot Tea Day. And there's nothing better after a long day at work or a long day of meetings than coming home to a cup of tea, maybe a good book, and definitely a loving doggie.

For January 11th, the Lonely Hearts Club learned about Morse Code for Morse Code Day. They happily wagged their tails to the dots and dashes.
January is Take Your Dog for a Walk month. Alex's House doggies go outside to play and walk everyday that the weather allows. Mostly Alex's House doggies get to play, but we do try to work with them on leash walking too. We hope everyone is able to walk their doggies often this and every month. Exercise is good for them.
It's January 9th, and Jenny, Malcolm, and Sam are celebrating Balloon Ascension Day with "Good Luck!" balloons carrying their hopes of finding furever families.
Option 3--Jenny chases the toy and then rolls around in the grass because life is meant to be fun--so play outside.
...Option 2--Jenny chases the toy and then goes off to chew on it, which means her furever family and just hang out and relax...
Happy January 7th--Play Outside Day. Jenny is looking for a furever family who wants to celebrate Play Outside Day everyday...Option 1--Jenny chases the toy but is having so much fun, she forgets to bring it back....
January 6th is National Technology Day and Sam is sharing his favorite technology, somewhat as a public service announcement. We think our friends at BuCART will agree with Sam. Microchipping your pets is important. Sam is microchipped so when he is adopted, that's already taken care of for his new furever family. If you or anyone you know has a dog or cat in need of microchipping, please give Alex's House a call--785-819-5138.
January is National Soup Month, so Alex's House decided to treat its residents to low-sodium, diluted chicken noodle soup. We decided to give Jenny the first bowl because we had to rearrange the dog beds and while the one Jenny currently has is plenty big for her, she previously slept on one twice as big. She should have her big bed back by the weekend, but for the moment she is boycotting her current dog bed and sleeping on the floor. In the meantime, we wanted to spoil her with the first bowl of soup. Jenny is looking for a furever family to spoil her even more.
