Been a while since I've updated this page!
We are still building carts after 23 years!

Our recipients have change over the past 5 years, shifting from mostly Dachshunds to now, mostly rabbits!
I think that reason is mostly due to more veterinarians recommending a physical therapy program for post disc rupture Doxies. Rehab really works well for these dogs and I'm glad the number of Dachshunds needing our carts has dropped!

We build quite a few bunny carts now and they work very well not only to help a rabbit regain mobility, but also to give them the support they need to rebuild muscle and heal.
Rabbits are so cool. Surprising to me, most do adapt to using a cart very quickly.

We build for older, arthritic rabbits, rabbits with E.C., (a protozooal infection) and bunnies who have been injured. As always, each cart is tailored to each bunny's specific needs.

So, we are still going strong and I'll add sone more great pics and videos soon so y'all can see all the sling faces we get to see everyday!

Thank you everyone for your continued support. We love what we do❤

Just wanted to share one happy dog named Mya.
Before she got her Dogs To Go walking cart, she was having more and more trouble taking her walks with her family.
Mya is 15 years old. We see so many senior dogs like her who are so tired of struggling with their advanced arthritis. These dogs usually end up giving up the idea of even getting up to walk. Exercise is so important for them, it keeps them going.

It makes me so happy to see this cute girl walking down the street again. Happy and loving her renewed spirit now that she's mobile again.

Just look at her smiling!

Just wanted to say thanks to all our friends and dog cart customers who have been so worried about us during hurricane Harvey.

Larry and I and the muttly pack are slowly recovering. Our house is torn down to the framework now, but the wet stuff is all gone and we are ready to begin the rebuilding.

Through all 5 days of torrential rain and the past two weeks of drying out and tearing down, y'all have been a great source of much needed kindness for us in a very chaotic world!

We feel very lucky to have so many friends! Hearing from each of you has helped to lift our spirits more than you know.

Until you experience the flooding, it's hard to understand the overwhelming sense of loss.

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. It has meant the world to us!

Wanted to say THANKS YA'LL for all the nice emails we have been receiving from our wheelchair pet parents!
This flooding here I Houston from Harvey has been so stressful😖
We ended up with 15" in our house and today for the first time, we were able to go back in and assess the damage. It's heartbreaking.
We spent the last 5 days in our camping trailer in our neighbors driveway watching the flood water take our house.
But we and our muttly pack of 5 are safe and dry. Let the rebuilding begin!
We truly appreciate your caring and worry. We feel blessed to have so many friends😘

Our little Nike is on there! I remember the man who took the photo but never dreamed he would make her a TV star😉
Not sure how long it will be on the site, but thought all of her fans would like to see her. She went to the dog show with us two days in a row, meeting and greeting everyone and every butt she could sniff. It was exhausting for her, but she loved every minute of the spotlight! Crazy girl.

Another special girl who got her wheels from Dogs to Go! Sugar Bear is a wonderful senior boxer mix who needed help. She loves her wheels and good news!!! She has been adopted thanks to the tireless efforts of the San Luis Obispo County Animal shelter. I will also put the story of her new Mom on this page. It is inspiring and also very, very special. Some things are just meant to happen! Enjoy Sugar Bear!

Sugar Bear, a boxer mix available at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services shelter, has a big heart — but her back legs don't work so well. Thankfully, she's got wheels! Watch her trot around and play. Find out more about Sugar Bear by calling the shelter at 805-781-4413 or visiting www.slocoun...

Thanks to her dedicated, determined owner, Amy, she is walking like a champ despite the poor odds of doing so (vet's opinion).

Hello Everyone!
Wanted to give everyone an update on what we have been doing.
Traveling a lot with our doggies in tow. They love seeing the country with us in our travel trailer. So many more places are dog friendly now, which tickles us pink! RV parks are full of travelers and their pets. Very cool.
A company called 60secdocs just finished filming a documentary on our little cart business last weekend. We hope to have the video for everyone to see soon. It is being edited as we speak. It will be available on facebook and youtube also. Hoping it brings more awareness of the need for wheelchairs for pets.
Nike is doing great. Almost 3 years now on wheels and going strong. She protects our property with a vengance. Lord help any squirrels, joggers or cars that pass by. She runs the fenceline with the big dogs, barking and running and generally being our homeland security!
Thanks to all the wonderful cart pets and their owners we have met this year. Many have become lifelong friends and we love to see their babies doing so well on wheels. Many have also regained the ability to walk with a little work and lots of patience on the parts of their loving owners. We are proud of all of them.
Next trip will be this winter to Arizona and Utah to see the sights. Hope to see some snow too, as it appears that Texas may just have one long summer with no relief from the heat all the rest of this year. UGH!
See you on our travels. Hope to say Hi! to some of our out of state owners while we make our way across the US.

Cute Thomas is needing a forever home. He is the most friendly little guy in the world and he is able to walk, but he is wobbly. We think he may have been born like this. He is in one of our carts now so we can try to get him walking a little stronger and more normally. He is a young dog, only about a year or a little less. He is available for adoption, so keep your contacts aware that he is a great dog who needs a home. Email me about him and I can guide you to the rescuer who is taking care of him until we find him a home.

Scruffy Runs!
Here's the story about the little dog who couldn't walk and the couple who helped him plus countless others keep mobile.

http://www.fox26houston.com/news/118261924-story

The company is Dogstogo.net

A couple in Rosharon has made it their passion to help animals who aren't able to walk. It's a side business for them. They're not in it to make money.   What they make are miracles.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in the past year! Through your donations of money as well as donated carts, we have been able to help quite a few pet owners who would otherwise not have been able to afford a cart. We can't do it without the support of our fellow animal lovers.
Just wanted to let everyone who helped know that it was all used to help cute dogs, cats and even rabbits live better lives.
We are eternally grateful to our supporters!
I also want to say a special thank you to all the wonderful folks who have adopted a shelter or rescue dog, cat or bunny! You save lives and make a difference!

WOOHOO! NIKE, our little cart dog just won the SPOKESDOG OF THE YEAR from Scout's Honor Rescue, the awesome folks who rescued her. We are building her a new cart in their honor so Nike can represent them at their Events. Come see her if you are out and about and be sure to check them out at Scoutshonorrescue.org and on Facebook. They have saved over 2500 animals from euthanasia and found homes for many of them.

I had yet another Dachshund (6 weeks post IVDD surgery) here this past weekend for a wheelchair whose vet told the owner that they did not want them to use a wheelchair because if they did, their dog would never walk again!!! This is simply NOT TRUE!!

(Just so everyone knows, I have been a tech since 1977, worked in a surgical specialty practice for over 25 years and have been building wheelchairs for over 16 years now.)

I use these carts as a part of a comprehensive rehab program and I can say for sure that if a dog has the potential to walk again, it will and the wheelchair is a great tool to help speed up the healing process. Rehab is essential to the healing process!

Never ever seen a dog "get lazy and not want to walk again" from using a wheelchair. This is an old wives tale and I stand by that statement!
So, if your vet says no wheelchair, email me. I will explain the pros and cons of using one and also discuss rehab with you. Both of these things can greatly improve your pet's chances of walking again. Promise!
Can't count the number of dogs who are walking today because of rehab. Even ones that their vets said would not! My own dog was one of them!
