It has been a day here at the Rescue!
My day started at 6am to get 2 girls of to spay. Yay! They are doing great. Courage has already eaten and had to have the cone of shame. 😆 Destiny is not as spry and still hasn't eaten and has a jacket on because she was curled in a ball. Whatever she needs. They all handle it differently. Karma goes tomorrow.
Comet (not available yet) went to the vet for his foot, but ended getting tests run. The parvo test came back a very faint positive. He and his sister are under quarantine for a while. We got all the meds to keep them going as they have been and keep symptoms under control. They are eating and drinking great and even playing. It still requires the extra precautions and sanitizing.
Comet also has to have medicated baths for his skin where he had a fungal infection. These were the healthy puppies. They came from a horrible situation where mom was tied out and they were in the dirt and mud. They are doing great, all things considered.
They are just precious! Here is sneak peak of Haley and Comet.

Pay attention! There would be 200% less dog bites or attacks if people paid attention and didn't say " it came out of nowhere". It very rarely comes out of nowhere! There was a sign! It was just overlooked.

Got an update on Roxy last night. She had met the most of the fur family ( dogs and cats) and has done super so far!! Turns out, she might just be a perfect little girl!!
I know that she wanted to play with every dog yesterday and her and Rocket became fast buddies!

Roxy went foster to adopt today!! Turns out, she is very dog friendly!!
This couple fell in love as soon as they saw her!! I think she will do very well as they are very dog savvy!

Our supplies have been dropped off in North Carolina!! Everything was rewrapped and labeled. But, delivery has been made to help!! Our donation of dog food, cat food and dog beds were delivered with a huge convoy of supplies. This ended up being a huge effort by a lot of people with donations coming in from so many. We were just one. A huge THANK YOU to everyone involved! Thank you to those who made the trip!

We took this girl in because we had a foster lined up. We have not heard back in the last couple days 😒. Current foster is going out of town.

We loaded up some supplies today to take to North Carolina!! Thank you Paw Mart for making this happen for us!!
Dog food, wet cat food, and beds!!
We did make a couple more stops to pick up some more donations. Photos coming soon!

Melya had a meet and greet...They ended up falling in love with Misto, too!! Both babies adopted!! They are going to be so loved and want for nothing! I couldn't be happier for these 2 shelter babies!!

We would like to send a huge Thank You to Walker County Animal Shelter for their concern and support given to us for our sweet Gabby. Thank you for your thoughts and taking the time to send us a card. We know how busy you are and that means so much!!
Gabby was th first " hard " case for us since we opened. The sad side of Rescue is the realization that you can't save one.
You guys deal with this too often, not for medical reasons, just because of irresponsible pet owners. Yet, you thought of us. Thank you!!
Ww are saddened for you and what you endure on a daily basis.

Gabby couldn't get enough of her pup cup! #yumyum

We broke this little guy out of the shelter today due to his legs. Turns out, they are worse than expected. He actually wasn't wanting to walk much because his left leg would literally fold on him and is painful 😫. Got it wrapped and he was on the move! He still has a bit of a limp, but he is on the road to recovery. When you add his legs to being skinny and dehydrated, he just doesn't feel good.🥺 We are going to see how soon we can get him in to the vet to see if there is something more to do. (The wrap lasted a whole 15min 😆). It helps, but he won't leave it. He does need a little extra support until he gets stronger. We would like to thank Ali Vander Toorn for making the jailbreak for us!! He needed out asap and we couldn't have done it today with her and her husband going to get them! We have started his proper nutrition and hydration. He has a heartbeat puppy to sleep with and is inside the house tonight.

When I picked this little boy up earlier this week, he was literally near death. Anemic, emaciated, eyes sealed shut with upper respiratory infection, limp and cold to the touch. I wasn't sure he was going to make it. I got him home, warmed up and immediately started pumping fluids into him. To my surprise, he got up to walk that evening, wobbly, but walking. This is him today, eyes wide open and playing outside. He does still need some weight gain, but it's coming. He is no longer a walking skeleton. I'm quite pleased with his progress ☺️

Rocket has been waiting a long time for his forever home. Not sure why?? He is such a cutie and will be a smaller boy. Born 5/9/24, he still only weighs 16lbs.
