Surprise pop up this week!
I won’t make it to the market because we have prior engagements! But I miss selling bread to everyone!

I will be set up in front of my house Thursday July 18th, there will be preorders as well as some unclaimed goods to pick up! If you drive down market street and see us, stop and say hi and grab some goods for the weekend!

We will be at the market tomorrow!

Things will look a little different on my table!

With the weather heating up and the humidity gettting even more suffocating, cooling my house is becoming increasingly difficult with the oven running for 12 hours, two days in a row. Right now it’s 86 in my house 🥵

With that being said after this weekend I will only be doing boule’s or artisan loaves if they’re pre ordered for the foreseeable future.

I will still have delicious sourdough loaves, but they will be in the form of a sandwich loaf.
Same recipe, same size, just a different cooking method. This will allow me to cook 3x faster than I currently am!
Without making this change I would have to up my prices.
We will also only be at every other market from here on out unless I tell you differently!

This weekend I will ONLY have bread.

Sad news☹️

With the humidity this week, and me forgetting to feed my starter for 3 days…. I accidentally ☠️ it!

I have dehydrated starter I’m rehydrating, but it takes 3-5 days and it’s not going to be ready to bake with in time for this weekend.

I will see you 6/15 for Father’s Day!

🚨 I will NOT be at the market this weekend!🚨

I’m not feeling the best and don’t feel comfortable baking for others while I have a cold!

I also will not be at the market Memorial Day weekend! But I’m planning to do orders for pick up Friday for the holiday weekend!

Are you ever curious what it looks like to prepare for the market?

Wednesday evening before bed I feed my sourdough starter.

Thursday morning I start my day mixing 15+ loaves of bread. Each loaf takes a little over a lb of flour!
While that rests I mix up my cookie dough.
Then do stretch and folds and bake cookies.
After my dough has bulk fermented I shape and put in the fridge.

Friday I turn my oven on at about 8/9 am and start baking bread. Usually 2 at a time.
I finish my loaves around 6 pm and the move on to cinnamon rolls. These take about 2 hours to proof and shape. 30 minutes to bake, then another hour to put icing on them and cool! This is also the time I bake anything else I may be bringing, such as scones!
Then I package and label everything! I have been finishing around 2 am on Saturday!

Saturday I get up at 5am take care of the chickens, get ready and pack the car to head to the market around 6:30/6:40!

It’s such a LONG process!
And I do it all on top of caring for my 2 little girls! (1&3 years old)

Your support means so much to me and is worth every second to hear the great feedback!

I am so thankful for everyone that comes to the market to support me and my market friends!

Not a very good picture because momma is in full protection mode, but baby #2 has arrived!
Seems to be very fresh! What an exciting experience on the homestead! Maggie is soooo excited!

20 days ago we put 4 eggs under a broody hen, 1 exploded, 1 didn’t develop, and we had two left!
Twice momma has left the nest and layed on other eggs that were laid. I was so worried she had let them get too cool yesterday while we were gone, but I was wrong!
I went out to check on momma once more before bed and she had a baby under her!
Stay tuned for baby #2 arrival!
