Gracie showing what sheβs made of! Getting ready for the PKC Jamboree in Union, SC this weekend.
This is so true! C**n hunting has little to no effect whatsoever on deer hunting. I've witnessed many similar scenarios first hand. In fact I believe c**n hunting actually has a positive impact on deer hunting. When a deer get pressured and spooked by a deer hunters constant presence in the woods they sometimes tend to go nocturnal, feeding on the corn piles at night. Deer hunters know this based on the game camera pictures they get. Had this happen to a friend. He was getting pictures of deer at night but none during shooting hours, until we went c**n hunting one night. We even stood in the corn pile. The next morning he bagged a nice buck from the same corn pile! If your a diehard deer hunter who doesn't let a c**n hunter hunt, just give them a chance and see for yourself.
Check this out.... To fellow c**nhunters this is nothing new.... To my friends who deer hunt....this is what we've been saying.
I hope everyone will come on out and join us at this hunt. It will be a good time guaranteed!

Gracie(left) the night before the Grand American! Just a little motivational pep talk and reward for all her hard work. lol. I was hoping for a quick drop and she produced with a quick two for two. The next drop I hunted her by herself and she looked so good that drop, I caved and gave her another one. lol Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstances we did not make it to the hunt. Entries were paid and arrangements were made but fate would not allow. Not sure who was more disappointed her or me but Lord willing I will do everything in my power to make it to this hunt next year. Congratulations to all the winners, better be ready to bring your A game next year!

Tag someone that would use this for c**n hunting! lol
Who's going? I think me and Gracie will be at this one.
UKC c**n hunt this Friday Iredell county c**n club
New toy! Had some fun finding some c**ns with it last night. Found one c**n that was pretty high up in a fork and probably never would have know it was there if it weren't for this thermal monocular. Won't be long I bet and they will be using thermal in the hunts, about like the Garmin's.
Gracie looked real good at the Jamboree hunt this weekend. Got into the money Saturday night and placed 9th out 117 entries. Anyone that didn't make it to this hunt this year or that has never been I highly recommend that you mark it on your calendar for next year. This is a great hunt put on by some great guys that do an awesome job! Hope to see you all again next year!
Hey Facebook friends, looking for a little insight on a kennel name change? I will list what I have and you can vote via comments or messages or post your own suggestion in the comments. Here's what I got; Whistle Dixie Bluetick's or any other spin you can put on it, this was derived from my first dogs pedigree name now gone. Cool Springs Bluetick Kennel, the name of road I grew up on. Lingle's Smokey River (Bluetick's, Kennel, hounds, etc.). Keep it the same or other? Looking for something catchy. Thanks for the help!
Just a update on Gracie and her progress. She has finished to nite champion, show champion and is a htx champion. She still needs 5 wins to be a grand night and only lacks one win from being grand show. She is well on her way to being a top finished hound and my only regret is not pushing her harder and promoting her more. She has only been in a handful of hunts and shows yet she has achieved so much! I'm really proud of this girl, she's not finished yet. Look to see her at a couple bigger hunts as we move toward the end of the year and into the new year. Happy holidays everybody and as always good hunting to you.
Gracie got her third HTX hunt test pass last night! This will make her an official HTX Champion on her title.

At a meeting of Bluetick hunters from around the country at the home of C. O. Smith in Greenville Illinois in 1946 the Bluetick Breeders Association was formed. It was also at this meeting that the first Bluetick Breed standard was created. That same year U.K.C. began excepting for registration...
Very Happy to say that Gracie took 1st place overall in the Senior division on Thursday night! This is a picture from the hunt that Gracie and I recently attended. It was the 2016 BBOA National Bluetick Day's in Batesville, MS. Photo taken on May 21, 2016.
If your a Bluetick enthusiast or even if your not, everyone should make plans to attend this hunt next year. BBOA does such a great job at hosting this event, it has become a very prestigious must attend event. It will be held at Bellvue, Michigan next year. So go ahead and make your plan to attend and I hope to see you all there!
Gracie is now officially a Show Champion. She finished to be show champion racking up a best of breed, best of class and best of show win all at the same event. I'm very proud of her and what she has accomplished. She is a nice built female and handles extremely well. Looking forward to what future holds for this young female.
Some more training photos of the c**nhounds. This is "Gracie" formerly know as "Lace"

Had a good night at the Big Oak Hunters Rights Benefit Hunt last night. Jim took 3rd place registered. Another 3rd place or better will finish him to Night Champion.
Lace got a best of breed and best of class this weekend at the Statesville c**n club. She has already won her best of show. Just need 5 more points and she will be show champion.
I'm happy to report that Jim got his 1st place win at the North Carolina Tri County C**n Club in Vale on Friday night. This was his first ever attempt at a UKC night hunt event. He had a total of 350+, no minus and 150 circle. There was one other registered cast hunting Friday night. Overall he looked real good and we had a great time doing it.
"Lace" and "Jim" both got a HTX pass at the HTX hunt May 8th. This will be the 2nd pass of 2 attempts for "Lace". Only one more and she will get her HTX degree! This was "Jim's" 1st pass of only 1 attempt, just two more to go. Also "Duke" has one HTX pass towards his HTX degree as well. This was only his 2nd attempt, better luck next time.

Cowboy Up Bluetick Kennels is proud to announce it's newest addition 'PR' Mayberry Blue Diamond Jim. I would like to thank Mr. Craig Edwards the owner of Jim for affording me this opportunity, I will be campaigning Jim in the hunts this year in pursuit of titling him out. Jim is a super nice hound and should do well in both the stud pen and the big hunts. Jim is about as nice of a pleasure hound as you can ask for. He is a very accurate track & tree dog that will stay put and hold pressure. Jim is a old timey Smokey River bred dog that I raised off a Smokey River female I had named 'PR' Smokey River Blue Dot. His Sire was 'PR' Mayberry Blue Bawling Andy. Anyone looking to breed to Jim please contact Mr. Edwards or I for more information. You may message me on here and will get you all the information you need. Be sure to check back for updates on Jim's progress as we push forward and go on the trail to championship status.

Had a great hunt tonight! Made 3 drops with DUKE & Lace; 1st drop was a quick tree big oak w/cedar grown up in it close to my feeder. 2nd drop was a decent track good tree seen c**n plain as day they looked really good. 3rd drop was a slow track finished it about 1/2 hr. later in a HUGE RED OAK! Darn thing looked like a Big Redwood tree out there! Would of took 4 men to wrap their arms around, you might of guessed it was a den tree.
