The music gently wafted across the barnyard as Mama B and and Harrison P. Bear came nose to nose for the first time…
(true story!) 😂😂

The babies in the nesting box are living proof of a successful date that night and boy did they surprise us with their colors!

Mama is an Orange Harlequin VC with Blue Fawn Harlequin, Broken Black, Tort, Black Orange Tri, and Black Magpie in her lineage.

Daddy is Black VM with Chocolate, Blue, and Opal in his lineage.

We were pleasantly surprised with two Chestnut VM babies and one Opal! Genetics are so fun!

These babies are absolutely gorgeous!! 🤩

We are mourning the loss of our two peanuts but grateful for these three healthy and thriving littles! They’re already enjoying their hooman snuggles. 🥰

Well hi there baby hippos! 🦛 😆

This morning we discovered three - no wait - four! babies in the nesting box… and then when we went to move them to a better spot in the nesting box, found ANOTHER baby hiding by itself! What a rollercoaster as we feared it didn’t make it but discovered it was indeed alive and well!! 🥹😭🙌🏼

That makes FIVE babies born to Mama B and Harrison P. Bear (a first time sire)! 🐼

Even though Mama B has had a litter for us before, we have never had black babies… a few of these lovelies are definitely taking after their daddy! 🤩
We’re excited for their fur to come in soon and see what beautiful colors and patterns we’ll have!
And if we have any blue-eyed babies!

Eeeeeee bring on the baby bunny fun!! 🎉

Saturday mood after a crazy Friday night out… 😅

But for real… we took the family to the Kentucky State Fair yesterday. (Loved seeing the Holland Lop Bunnies!! 🤩🏆 ) We had a blast but got home super late. All fun and games until your baby is teething and wakes a bazillion times and then starts the day before sunrise.

*yawn*

So now I’m sitting here in a tired stupor with my face against the cage like little Finn here watching the babies in Mama B’s belly roll around while my baby naps. ☺️

Can’t wait for baby bunnies again! 👏🏼

Did you know an elephant pregnancy can last up to 22 months?! 😳 Fortunately for momma bunnies, their gestation periods are only 28-32 days! Phew! 😮‍💨

Mama B’s last litter was born at 30 days and guess what! Today is day 29 and we are officially on baby bunny watch!! 👏🏼 They’re our first litter bred here on the homestead so our Harrison P. Bear 🐼 is going to be a daddy and we are geeked!

One of our favorite things is watching Mama B’s belly move like waves… reminds me of my babies rolling around in my belly. 🥹

She’s had litters of 3&4 and the last was 5 counting our little Peanut. Any guesss how many this time??

Pray with us for a safe delivery and a bunch of healthy baby hippos! (IYKYK) 😆

Hi! 👋🏼 We’re Elizabeth Ree & Charlotte Anna Ree!
The OG Ree is Charlotte’s Great-Granny Ree (who turns 90 this weekend)! 🥳

Three Rees in a Pod is our mother-daughter project born out of a lifetime of bunny love and desire to share beautiful bunnies with others. 🐰

We spend time with our bunnies every day and our babies go to their new homes comfortable with being handled daily and even knowing how to use a litter box! 👏🏼

We’ve heard back from our adoptive families what great pets our bunnies have made and we’re so grateful to have played a role in spreading the joy a sweet bunny can bring!

More babies coming in the next couple months… we can’t wait!! 🐰 🐰 🐰

We miss hanging out with the baby bunnies every day! 🥺Fortunately we’re expecting a litter very soon!! Eeeeeeeee!!

There are more people on the list to be notified of this litter’s arrival than the number of babies we expect. So if you’re interested, shoot us a message so you can get first dibs! ☺️

The colors in this litter will be quite different than the last! And possibly some blue-eyed babies as well. 👏🏼 We’re so excited to meet them!!

Most people have no idea what an amazing pet a rabbit can be, especially when handled from day one like our baby bunnies! They are incredibly smart and easily litter-box trained and often get along with other animals too!

We absolutely love hearing from the families who have adopted our babies and seeing how spoiled these babies are in their new homes!! Just look at these pictures! 😍

A veteran who long ago raised rabbits once again has a bunny companion to snuggle and we are so grateful to play a role!

What an absolute joy these fluff nuggets have been over the last 6 weeks!

We are grateful that they have all found wonderful homes where they will continue to be snuggled & enjoyed. As our 6 year old says, BUNNIES ARE THE CUTEST CREATURES IN THE WORLD!!

Our six year old son designed and then built (with his daddy’s help) this amazing play structure for the buns!

The grown bunnies AND the babies love playing in, under, and on it. Best part was that right after Gavin gave it to him, Harrison P. Bear gave Gavin a bunny kiss. 🥰

We absolutely love raising these bunnies together and all the opportunities for learning that come along with it.

Sweet Pea is aptly named… she is the sweetest bun!! 🥹

It’s funny to witness different bunny personalities… we have some loud extroverts but she is so quiet and reserved and sweet. Timid but not standoffish. Definitely an introvert. If she was a human she would read lots of books and drink dandelion tea. ☺️

Mama B is such a patient mama, it’s so endearing to watch. (I mean I’m not saying she hasn’t hidden from her babies or anything, but we all get that too.) 😂 I’ve spent over 6 years of my life (& counting) with a baby attached to me… and have nursed everywhere from atop a pumpkin in the middle of a field to baseball stadiums and beyond. When we left, they were only 5 days old and barely had any fur. Only a few days later and they are completely fur covered and irresistible!! Phrase of the day: OH MY WORD. Moral of the story: Need happiness (& a squeaky voice)? Get a bunny. 😍 Reservations for these cuties opens in two weeks!

Starting a business that involves bunnies with your eight-year-old daughter means lots of squeals of happiness. 😆 There have been so many squeals of happiness as we’ve grown, but today probably topped them all. This morning when we went to care for the rabbits, we discovered that Mama B, at day 31 of gestation, had finally started pulling fur in preparation for her babies.
