Yesterday, we said goodbye to our beloved lab, Gruffydd. Gruff, he was our behind-the-scenes surrogate grandpa at Pinnacle and was with us for 11 amazing years.

Gruff was born on the day we crossed the Texas border as my husband and I embarked on our Texas adventure. He was our “first” and experienced all the “firsts” with us like our first apartment and our first home. He was with my husband and I as we grew in our relationship, from boyfriend/girlfriend to engagement to a married couple. Gruff was with us in our biggest and greatest milestone: becoming parents to our daughters. And, Gruff was with us as we embarked on our Pinnacle journey.

We are devasted and heartbroken but comforted by the fact that he lived an amazing life and he was so loved, especially by our daughters and the Pinnacle puppies that have gone off to their forever homes.

Gruff was the bestest big boy and his memory is forever etched in our hearts. We never have enough time with them, do we? How lucky we were to be loved by Gruff.

Please keep us in your thoughts, especially our oldest daughter.

Yesterday I got to catch up with sweet Brimley who is a future mama for Pinnacle (pending completion of all her health testing!). I am just in LOVE with her dark caramel coloring. What a delight it was to give her love and take some photos!

Prim and Roki have honeymooned and will be due at the end of Oct/beginning of November. These pups will be ready to go to their forever families around Christmas! We are expecting these sweet pups to be 35-45lbs grown and will be caramels & reds with white markings.

All of our puppies start with ENS on Day 3! Why? Keep reading 👀 Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is a technique used to stimulate the neurological development of puppies during their early stages of life. The critical period for neurological development in puppies occurs from birth to around three weeks of age. During this time, the puppy’s brain is rapidly developing, and exposure to various stimuli can have a significant impact on their overall neurological function and temperament later in life. ENS involves a series of gentle handling exercises that aim to provide mild stress and sensory experiences to the puppies. The primary purpose of these exercises is to activate the puppy’s neurological pathways and promote their adaptation to different environmental stimuli. The specific techniques are: 1. Tactile Stimulation, 2. Head Held Up, 3. Head Pointed Down, 4. Supine Position, and 5. Thermal Stimulation. These exercises are performed once a day for a few seconds, starting from the third day after birth until around day 16. The goal is to provide controlled and mild stress that challenges the puppies without overwhelming them. The purpose of ENS is to enhance the puppies’ neurological development, improve their ability to handle stress, and increase their overall adaptability to different environments and situations. It is believed that early stimulation can contribute to improved learning abilities, better resilience, and increased performance in various areas.
