Lynda's Tire Service to the rescue again! If you are in San Antonio, we highly recommend this small business. They come to your location to swap out tires when you blow a tire like we did this morning! We were back on the road to our clients in no time!

The fireworks will be starting soon! Now is the time to make sure they’ve gone potty and get them comfortable for the night in preparation of the loud booms! Please also be mindful and considerate of your veteran neighbors too!

Happy 4th of July to everyone, hope you have a wonderful and safe celebration!

🧨💥🧨‼️💥🧨‼️💥🧨‼️💥🧨‼️💥🧨
It likely begins this weekend!! Every year more animals go missing around July 4th than any other time, running scared from fireworks. Please take this time to be sure your pet’s microchip registration is up to date, or have them chipped if not already. Be sure they are wearing indentification, it can be as simple as the example in this pic. Bring them inside, away from the noise, it’s scary for most pets, they feel they’re in a war zone!!! Some pets go missing and never return home, some are hit by vehicles and killed, it happens EVERY YEAR at this time. Don’t let you furry love be a statistic!!

As a reminder, it is that time of year when we see these pesky burrs in our dogs coats. A really easy way to get most of them out is with a slicker brush. For those stubborn ones, you can use a metal flea comb, or my favorite, a RID (lice) comb. Be sure to check your dogs for these burrs and spear grass (nasty stuff!) after being outside!

While I may not have rent, I do have registration, insurance, inspections and maintenance that replaces rent. I do try to be reasonably priced, but also have to support not only the business, but a family too.

For all the people getting puppies for Christmas I beg you to train your dog! Teach your dog it’s ok to be in a crate, to have their feet touched, to sit, don’t let them jump on everyone and PLEASE don’t let them “mouth” your hands and arms because it’s cute! A well trained dog is a family member that can go with you anywhere and not hurt the groomer or vet and can be kenneled for their safety at these places and boarding too. Training a puppy is an investment in peace for your home and everyone else for around 13+ years. Thank you!-a tired groomer 😉

I have mentioned a “coyote roller” to some clients in the past. This is what a home made one looks like, you can buy one for a couple hundred dollars already made. These are excellent tools for containing a “Houdini dog” that likes to jump the fence.

I 100% agree with this. I always recommend for clients not to use this as it does in fact damage the coat.
Better alternatives are- for short coated breeds, a Zoom Groom works great, and does not damage the coat. For medium and long coated breeds, an undercoat rake works great for removing the dead coat without damaging the coat.

Have questions on what I recommend for your pet? Just ask! I’m always willing to share knowledge and educate anyone willing to learn!

A little PSA as I keep seeing these recommended on social media by influencers and in groups.

Do you have a furminator?

Throw it in the bin.🗑 🚮

"But I get so much hair out with it"

A furminator is a blade. I've attached a photo of a super short grooming blade next to the furminator blade to compare. The only reason you think it works so well and you get so much hair out is because it's actually cutting your dogs coat. It cuts the good hair, the top coat and leaves long lasting damage, you may not notice at first or ever but its definitely doing the damage and your pups coat will begin to get shorter and shorter, becoming more sparse.

I've not once, nor will I ever use a furminator on a clients dog and 100% do not recommend them. They belong in the bin.
