Oakley is incredibly smart and willing to work, but struggles with saying “no” or communicating that he’s had enough until it’s too late and he explodes. We worked on channeling his drive and communication with his owners who have done an amazing job training him so far.
This little queen slays her training sessions and has been so fun seeing grow up! Her pawrents are amazing setting Brioche for success!

I first met Inzo at a puppies and pole dance class event. While his siblings all ran around getting to play and cuddle the students he remained right by the side of our instructor and her husband for a full two hours. It’s always amazing how our dogs choose their s sometimes; my senior dog, Domino, did that at the shelter where he approached me from his kennel after shying away from all staff members for two days prior.
Benito was such a pleasure to work with! His family truly took the time to help his best self come forth. I love getting progress updates about him having a great time and thriving in new experiences he gets to be part of. That’s the goal right? We all get a dog wanting to include them in our life adventure. If we give them the skills to do so they truly can share life with us fully.
There’s a lot of stigma about dog’s wearing muzzles. My own dog wears one often as she finds inappropriate things outside exciting to eat. We’ve worked hard in training a “that’s trash” cue for her to drop an item in trade for a tasty treat reward. Now finding leftover pizza/chicken bones/beef sandwiches are too hard to resist, so the muzzle helps prevent her from making poor choices when we encounter them.
Here’s other reasons a dog may wear a muzzle. I am grateful for companies like the.muzzle.movement for providing education and aide to dogs around the world.

Don’t let those puppy eyes fool you as this God of Mischief, Loki, still surprised us at his training session today! In a good way though! He is such a smart puppy and his pawrents have already done a great job setting him up for success. He loved the flirt pole most!
This little fluff princess is Mia! She probably won’t need a dinner tonight as she was very eager to work for her food and treats today during her training session. It doesn’t take much to fill her belly but her metabolism is quite active! She’s like a hummingbird dog!
Maya was a pleasure working with today! Her moms have done a great job working with her to model after big sister Simone, but she still needs some help overcoming some leash reactivity. I’m excited to hear how she progresses!

Oliver here did great at his last visit since his foster mom has been working with me on his reactivity. He wore a muzzle for safety, but did great working with his care team so the muzzle did not add any stress for him.
Cleo is the perfect dog for first time dog owners. She is so sweet and gentle with her very own boy. She needs a bit of help not pulling too hard on the leash when she gets excited to go somewhere, but after her first session I know she’ll be a pro at joyful walks in no time.

My strong chewer loves these yak chews! It easily takes her hours if not days to know these guys down. Once they are small enough, I pop them under water for a good rinse and into the microwave for 1 minute. They fluff up like a crunchy marshmallow and are still completely digestible. They are amazing at cleaning my dog’s teeth too!
Arlo was such a joy to work with this morning. His family loves his playfulness but could use some help showing him how to rein it in when it’s inappropriate.

This has been one of my favorite training tools/games/ toys for many clients and my own dogs.
Short and sweet is key. I usually recommend 3mins max to a training game. This keeps it fun, fresh and you dog from getting tired or frustrated. Quick and fun sessions are mood boosters and easier to fit within daily schedules.

As many of you know Raven wears a muzzle. Not because she is aggressive, but because she likes to eat trash, pick up inappropriate items when outside and can redirect her frustration onto me being quite mouthy. Some dogs are working through past experiences, eat p**p or would prefer a muzzle to the head cone when recovering from surgery.
