Here is a write up of Goldie:

Goldie is a great dog. She is a beautiful blonde, tan color with white ”wings” on her back! She is very loving, wants to be with people all the time and is good with other dogs as well. She is an active dog, but also likes to just chill with her people. She loves to go on walks/hikes, swim in a pool or stream, is good with large animals (cows, horses) and is fine with chickens too. Completely house trained in all ways. She can be left alone and does not chew or tear up the yard or house. She is very smart and knows commands (sit, stay, bed, shake, down, etc.). She does not go on furniture and loves her doggie beds. She is crate trained but does not need to be in a crate at night. She goes to bed by herself and does not whine even if put in a crate. She does not bark much, only when protecting her yard.

She was a rescue at the age of about 1.5 years from TJ and she is now about 5.5 years old.

She is a multiple of breeds….. she does look lab but she is poodle, pit terrier, German shepherd, boxer and super mutt! This is according to Embark DNA.

Tis the season for LOQUATS! Poisoners to dogs? Yes and no.

Yes, dogs can eat loquats, but with caution. The loquats' seeds are toxic. They contain cyanogenic glycosides that can yield cyanide when broken down. Make sure to serve completely deseeded loquats to dogs in moderation.

It’s major rattlesnake season here in San Diego, Ca. Please be careful to not let your dog sniff in or under bushes along sidewalks or canyon sides. And get that rattlesnake vaccine with booster; will buy you time to get your dog to the Vet.

From June Letter from the San Diego Humane Society:

More pets end up in shelters after July Fourth than any other time of year. Fireworks and fanfare can leave pets frightened, disoriented and desperate to escape the stress. It is hard to predict how an animal will react when startled, so even pets who have never tried escaping through a screen, slipping out of a collar or jumping a fence may exhibit unexpected behaviors in response to this holiday.

To help keep your furry friends safe and calm over the July Fourth, ask yourself if your pets are ...

1. Staying home? Make sure your pet is in a quiet and secure indoor space without escape options. Some pets will find creative ways to get through screens or partly opened windows and doors. Dampen sounds by closing blinds, covering a crate with a blanket on all sides but one, and playing calming music or TV.

2. Celebrating with you? This is a high-risk scenario for most pets, and even if your pet has been comfortable with fireworks and crowds in the past, safety is still important! Make sure their walking gear fits properly and that their leash is securely fastened to their collar or harness. Be sure to bring treats and water — our traditional July Fourth menus aren’t typically pet-safe.

3. Easily identifiable? If your pet is microchipped, call or log in to your microchip provider to confirm your contact information is up to date. If your pet hasn't been "chipped" yet, visit a microchipping clinic or your veterinarian for this quick procedure that can help a lost pet get home faster. Make sure your pet has ID tags on their collar that are legible, securely attached and current. Writing your phone number on their collar with a Sharpie is a quick fix in a pinch!

4. Very anxious? If you know your pet has extreme anxiety around July Fourth, talk to your veterinarian early about calming medications to make the evening less stressful.

Rosie is looking for a new home!
She is 1yr 5mo old, spayed, female, shepherd, chow, akita
mix. She is active, playful, loving but is also sometimes akita
aloof. She loves squeaky balls, hikes and playing with other
dogs! She is well trained: she is fully potty-trained, walks
well on a leash; knows all the basic commands, and doesn’t
chew or bark when left alone. She could work on her
greetings as she gets excited when people visit. She would do
best in a home with older kids. Cats are ok if they are tough.
