🌟✨TRAINEES OF THE WEEK✨🌟 Please put your paws together and welcome the next round of GOOD dogs, ELLIOT, ANNIE, & BODHI! This week we’ll be focusing on ecollar conditioning for all 3 pups to help with better decision making and better behavior down the road PLUS work on each of their leash manners. For now, these pups are just learning the fundamentals of pressure on and off with both the leash and collar and learning to generalize the two with desired behavior in various settings and situations. The pups are here training for a variety of reasons, such as leash reactivity, excessive barking, excessive jumping, leash pulling and so on. If any of those issues sound familiar, give me a call!

🚨‼️NEW GROUP COURSE‼️🚨

The Good Dog LLC presents “The Urban Dog” group course. This weekly 5 part course is designed to strengthen your dog’s manners and behavior in various environments and encounters with real world distractions present (such as people, dogs, kids, bicycles, cars, etc.).

The Urban Dog course is a mash up of some of the most important skills all dogs should know via the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen courses (including both the Urban & Community criteria). PLUS, this course will begin teaching your dog the art of building neutrality around common distractions like other people and dogs!

(BONUS: There is a special testing option for dogs looking to earn titles in any of the AKC Canine Good Citizen courses!)

You and your dog will leave the course with:

✅ Better leash manners
✅ Better behavior around dogs, people, etc.
✅ Improved engagement while out in busy urban settings
✅ More confidence
✅ Help proof known obedience commands (like Sit & Down) in real life situations
✅ And so much more! 🐶

This course is split into two (2) sessions weekly on TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS. This course runs from 6-7pm at various outdoor locations throughout Cape Cod (TBD).

COURSE DATES:

Session #1 (Tuesdays): Sept 10, Sept 17, Sept 24, Oct 1, & Oct 8

Session #2 (Thursdays): Sept 12, Sept 19, Sept 26, Oct 3, & Oct 10

Dogs with mild reactivity towards people, dogs, cars, bikes, etc. are welcome — note special precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of all participants.

COST: $450 per dog; copies of vaccinations must be provided by first class; a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required (paid via Venmo ) to secure your place; SPOTS ARE LIMITED!

🌟✨DAY TRAIN ROLL CALL✨🌟 Welcome to LINUS (Great pyrenees mix) & FINLEY (Mini schnauzer) — they’re both enrolled in our 2 week day train program!

Linus is here for some ecollar conditioning and socialization — he can get nervous around strangers and barks/lunges to create space. He also likes to police other dogs while at daycare, so we’ll be integrating the ecollar into his daily routine to help set some clear boundaries as well as correct and reinforce for desired behaviors in real time.

Finley will be working on ecollar conditioning, behavior modification (helping him learn to be calm in stressful or exciting situations — he likes to give free “tooth hugs” when he’s wound up), as well as engagement around distractions and overall socialization.

These kids had a busy week - but we finished strong. Peep reactive dog Taji hanging out with one of our new fosters in the background 🙌. And Ms Georgia spent some time near loud scary sounds and big clunky vehicles to help with desensitizing. They still have some more work to do — next step is to incorporate their parents via private sessions so we can get everyone on the same page. 🐶🐶

🌟✨FOSTER SPOTLIGHT✨🌟 Welcome to Benji (Husky Mix) and Murphy (Golden) to our foster to adopt program. These local Cape Cod boys will be with us for the next couple of months to work on general training and exposure before they’re officially available for adoption. Stay tuned to see these boys’ transformation as we prepare to get them into their forever homes!

🌟✨DAY TRAIN ROLL CALL✨🌟 Welcome Pluto (left; Pit/Cur mix), and Mama G (Shepherd/Husky Mix from our good friends over at ). Pluto is back after a year (we did his puppy training right after he was adopted) for a 2 week refresher and reboot of his ecollar training plus helping to correct his recent reactive behaviors while on leash around other dogs. Mama G will be with us throughout the week to work on leash manners, crate training and conditioning to the ecollar to help with some recall and naughty destructive behavior 😈. Excited to see how these kiddos progress come week’s end.
