Sometimes people ask how long it will take to groom their pet. While we like to give helpful estimates, it can be hard to guess ahead of time. Dogs can be less patient than humans and need breaks from stimulation. They don’t bathe frequently; Some dogs take upwards of 90 minutes to properly wash away excess oils/debris & blow out the coat, and then we can start trimming or tending to other grooming needs. Sometimes pets forget to brush their hair between appointments. All of these things can contribute to the grooming needs of an animal.

If they come regularly, we can best plan & adapt to their needs. In any case, we will take the time to do the job right! 🙂

Thanks to our wonderful Charley, the Woods got to enjoy a few days away this past week. Like you, we miss our pets when we’re away. Our kids have been seeking out their favorite famous pets wherever they were. Funny enough, my two favorite animated animal friends don’t happen to be dogs or cats— they are Flounder and Jaq. 😂 Who/what is your favorite animated Disney pet?

We’re more than half way through Spring Break! It’s the busiest week in history for us. Yesterday, three of us each put in a solid 10 hours of grooming and dog activities. We definitely hope to laugh about this week later on because it’s been a tough one! I don’t have much time for before and afters this week, but here is the cute little Piper H. to remind you how cute your doggos are when they are freshly groomed. We have a few little openings left in April and mostly booking toward late May. Let’s make sure you’re on the books. 🙂

Our next vaccination clinic is Saturday March 25th from 11 am - 3 pm at 76 N 100 E Unit A9 American Fork. This is a walk in clinic, no appointment needed!

1 Year Rabies, good for one year - $25
3 Year Rabies, good for three years - $30

DAPP - $25
Protects against distemper, parainfluenza, and parvovirus

Bordetella - $25
Protects against kennel cough, which is easily spread from one dog to another and is highly contagious.

Dog Bundle - $65-$70
Includes Rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella

Rattlesnake - $35
Specifically designed to produce antibodies against the venom of a rattlesnake.

Update: 202 days ago, my miracle baby came into this world. Things were nothing like we planned; It became critical for me to maintain & grow our business even while caring for a medically complex premie. We have groomed over 900 pets since that day! Tomorrow, the Woods will begin our first weekend away in over 300 days (117 in the hospital)! We definitely need a minute to bond with all our tiny humans and soak in the sunshine. Though I (Kristie) won’t be reachable through Tuesday, Charley & Abraham will still be here caring for all the pups while I am away. Thank you, thank you, for all of your support that allows my family the flexibility we need during this chapter. I look forward to seeing you all again after this short recharge.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been deciding what Woods Paw Spa is going to be for our family, staff, and (most importantly) our community with all of the changes and growth we have experienced.

Our mission statement remains the same. We aim to gently groom *and pamper* your pets in a safe and social environment. We enjoy seeing your pups excited to join us in this great atmosphere. We love your elderly canine companions, rambunctious puppies, and even your BFFs with horrible dog breath. 😉 We know the people in our community and I (Kristie) created this business with my 🐾 friends in mind.

I have a college degree. I have decades of experience with animals. I am the dog whisperer that grooms your dog humanely so that they are always excited to see me. 😊

Since I learned that my cute baby (Penny) was going to join my family, I knew I needed to build a team to share my mission in serving our 500+ four-legged clients. We have finally assembled that team. Over the next few weeks, we will be posting more about them! We are very excited for all the things coming your way!

With the addition of our bathing assistant, Abraham, we are able to add several more 1-hour appointments between now and Christmas. Don’t forget to get your pet groomed before your holiday guests arrive!

We are grateful for all of our loyal friends & clients. 🤗

In the last 150 days, I (Kristie) have had Covid, a hand injury, hand surgery, 3 days on bed rest, unexpectedly delivered our sweet girl 14 weeks early, and spent some portion of 117/150 days in the hospital. Our clients have been so understanding and supportive. Thank you! We got to bring our baby home yesterday. We are going to remain open because we love your pets, but may still require patience from time to time as we learn the ongoing needs of our little one.

Appointments may be limited for the next several weeks. However, we will be able to get more pets back on the books in January, so don’t forget to schedule that next appointment now.
