After a lot of time, traps, tips and dedication, the dog we have all been tracking and worrying about is finally SAFE!!! Saugerties Dog Control Officer, Adam Saunders (of both SAS and Ulster County Canines), succeeded in nabbing the hot dog thief now named "Nathan". Nathan covered quite a bit of distance while being cunning and evasive. He was caught on a home camera sneaking into a doggie door, opening a refrigerator and stealing hot dogs. He was able to extract the bait from traps more than once without triggering them. Adam finally figured out how to get him! Now he's smothering Adam in kisses to show his gratitude! We will keep you posted on this sweet pup. Thank you to the community for helping Adam to keep tabs on Nathan's adventures. Another job well done Adam!! We are lucky to have you on our team!

CatVideoFest is a compilation of the best cat content selected from hundreds of video submissions, and knitted into a 70-minute love letter to our friends with nine lives. Founded in 2012, CatVideoFest shows in theaters only. 10% of proceeds from ticket sales goes toward funding a new Saugerties Animal Shelter! Be part of a good cause as you watch cute, quirky kitties! Just a reminder that the shelter is going to be short-staffed this weekend as Elly, Shalan and Morgan will be attending the 2024 Shelter Medicine Conference at Cornell University. (We are looking forward to expanding our knowledge in order to better help the animals and our community!)
We ask that you please be patient with our staff and volunteers that will be holding down the fort, as the shelter will not be operating at the same capacity that it usually does. We will be back to regular operations on Monday.

Puppy cuddle sessions are back! We have these two cuties available for whisking away your worries and lowering your blood pressure! Appointments must be scheduled and donations prepaid ahead of time. You can just send us a message here on Facebook to book. $20 for 15 minutes, $35 for 40 minutes or $50 for 60 minutes. All donations go towards our vet bills. Teddy has made this family whole again. They recently lost their beloved dog Myles after a long, heartbreaking battle. Myles happened to be missing an eye. Linus fell into a deep depression when he lost his friend. He took the loss harder than anyone, which made his parents hurt even more. Teddy has filled everyone's hearts with joy and love! As you can see he has no problem getting around! Linus thinks nothing of his new friend missing a leg, in fact it may remind him of his beloved friend who was missing an eye. Congratulations on your happily ever after Teddy! Thank you for healing this home!
