Big thanks to the client today who told me that the hour drive was worth it for her dogs to receive the “Amber” treatment. She tried places closer to home, but they didn’t offer the same love and attention to detail. Thank you for recognizing we go the extra mile at Rover Make Over to do the BEST we can do every time. Made me smile and feel grateful for my wonderful clients.

I have no interest in being the cheapest or the quickest groomer. I only strive to do what is best for your dog and you each and every time. To all of you who know that and appreciate it, Thank You!

Maxwell here!! I hear there’s a lot of hype about some massive bake sale going down on Sunday?? That sounds yummy and I’m sure it’ll be cool and all, but the REAL cool part about Sundays event is that I’m going to be there hanging out with a bunch of my friends!! We are all available for adoption and we are all hoping our new furrever families come and find us!!!

Adoption applications are online at www.foxyscradle.com if you’d like to be pre-approved!

A bit overdue but congratulations to our raffle basket winners! Tyson T., Chloe S., and Ollie S., I just know you want to thank your pet parents for entering you in the raffle. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas treats and I am sure I will see you soon for a post holiday pampering!! Also we did good with a $300 donation to go to Peaceable Kingdom. Since they are a no kill facility and many of our pets come from them I decided they should receive the funds. Thanks to all who donated!

Hello Rover Make Over friends and family! I know we are all concerned about the new doggy virus circulating around so I wanted to post and address this issue. While it isn't officially reported in PA as of yet, it is spreading. Unfortunately I think it will only become worse after the holidays as people travel and are bringing or boarding their pets over the holidays. Over the Thanksgiving holiday the states reporting this illness went from 4 to 14. Hopefully they will find a cause and cure soon. However in the meantime here is what you can do and what Rover Make Over is doing to protect your pets.

What Rover Make Over is doing

1. We are taking extra sanitizing and cleaning measures in the salon including a new vet recommended cleaning solution to disinfect any areas dogs come in contact with.

2. We are expanding our hours and days to limit the amount of dogs in the shop at one time. I am also encouraging those with multiple dogs to bring them together so that it is only dogs of the same household being in close proximity.

3. Any sick dogs or dogs exhibiting symptoms will not be accepted and will be sent home immediately.

4. We do not allow dogs to interact with other dogs in the shop. (This has always been our policy, and we will continue to keep dogs separated when in the shop).

5. We will be using an air cleaning filtration system within the shop.

Basically I will be treating this like doggy covid and trying to keep everyone happy and healthy and try and keep this from spreading in our area. Having worked with dogs for almost 25 years and having worked in a kennel facility for 19 years I am well versed in dog care and preventing the spread of dog illnesses and recognizing health issues in dogs when I see them or hear them. Rest assured I will be ever vigilant as always. I will continue to keep myself informed about this illness and the symptoms and am keeping in contact with the local veterinary community.

What you can do

1. Limit your dog's direct contact with other dogs. This includes doggy daycare and play areas, but also remember that letting your dog approach and interact with another dog even on a walk is still exposure and contact.

2. If your dog is sick or acting strangely just keep them at home and away from other animals. If symptoms worsen or persist be sure to see your vet.

3. If you are in close contact with any animals during your day be sure and wash your hands/clothes before interacting with your dog at home. So yup, if you are a dog sitter, walker, vet or vet tech, or even just someone who pets a lot of dogs during the day, clean up before loving on your own pooch.

Lets all just do our part and be careful and try and keep this from spreading around our area. Again, at this point we are simply being proactive as there are not any reported cases in the area. However when it comes to our furry friends it never hurts to take some extra precautions.

Thinking that this holiday season we should give back and help some of the local shelters/animals in need. I have decided to raffle 3 baskets this season. Each will include a $10 Rover Make Over gift certificate as well as a variety of dog items (treats, p**p bags, leash etc). I will start this tomorrow Nov 9th and have the drawing on Sunday Dec 17th ( so your pup can have the basket for Xmas if you win). Tickets will be 5$ with 3 chances to win. You can of course donate more if you choose. Let’s be thankful and help those less fortunate. If you do not have an appointment during that time but wish to participate please call or text me 484-244-2720 and I will set up a ticket for you. Please share and donate! And consider adopting this year instead of paying $2,000 for a “pure bred” Lhasa, boxa,Sheepa, doodle…and no offense, all my dogs were mutts, loved them, all came from shelters. I am also going to ask any other animal groups to do the same this season. We are all busy during the holidays, groomers, pet sitters, kennels, trainers etc. Get a raffle going and share the wealth! Many people donating a small amount adds up quickly! (I will be donating 100% of the raffle purchases)

While it may seem a great idea to have someone come to your home to groom your dog, ask this question??? Are they insured?? Accidents happen, cuts, improperly sanitized tools etc… if your home groomer isn’t insured you could be left with a vet bill for hundreds of dollars. Just food for thought.

Just a reminder, please Call or Text if you need an appointment. The shop number is 484-244-2720 and you can call or text that number anytime. It is a dedicated line for just grooming. I am still working hard grooming the dogs so leave a message if I don't answer or be patient if you text. Grooming requires both hands and concentration, I will not be able to answer calls or texts while grooming.

Also again, please Call or Text, do not email me, FB message me, show up at the shop, tape notes to the shop door, send your neighbor to talk to me or send a carrier pigeon....OK so the last one I am making fun of but all the rest have happened.

It is very disruptive to be interrupted in the middle of grooming a dog, not to mention unsafe....I had a client walk in a few days ago while I was sc******ng under a dog, luckily I only cut my hand when the dog began jumping around and not the dog. But you get the idea, wiggly dogs and sharp scissors are a bad combo. Please keep that in mind and respect my work time and the appointments held by others. Interrupting my work day also results in that appointment not being finished on time since I have to stop working to speak with you if you show up. Thanks in advance for understanding and cooperating. I know as non groomers that no one means any harm, so that is why I want to explain why it is bad idea to just pop in.

As for notes on the door, they get blown away sometimes or fall off and then I don't even know, and emails and messages, well when I get home at 9 pm or 10 pm checking emails and messages just isn't on my priority list. A hot shower, some food, and sleep are all that are on my mind. Thanks again in advance.😍🐕
