How sad!

The recent decision taken by the Turkish government to pass a bill to round up and kill stray dogs has left many of us feeling overwhelmed with sorrow and devastation. The thought of innocent animals, including our beloved landfill dogs, being targeted for extermination is heartbreaking. It is a gruesome and heartless act that has shattered our hearts into pieces. These stray dogs, who have been surviving on the streets and often provide companionship to those who have no one else, do not deserve such a cruel fate. Our empathy for these animals is at an all-time high as we struggle to come to terms with this inhumane decision. The amount of sadness and despair we feel is indescribable, and it is a reminder of the harsh reality that many stray animals face every day. We can only hope that this decision will be reconsidered and that steps will be taken to protect these helpless creatures, who deserve nothing but love and compassion. Our hearts go out to all the dogs in Turkey, as we mourn for their lives that will be taken away without mercy.

Do you know the signs of cannabis (ma*****na) intoxication in cats and dogs?

VCA Animal Hospitals shares that pets experiencing ma*****na intoxication may:

🍃Be hyperactive—or sleepy, disoriented and/or very vocal.
🍃Have dilated pupils and drool excessively or vomit.
🍃Develop urinary incontinence.
🍃Experience tremors, seizures or a coma (in severe cases).

Other physical signs include a slow or fast heart rate, altered blood pressure, and a slowed breathing rate.

If you suspect a cat or dog has been exposed to cannabis, you should take the pet to your veterinarian or nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

One of the ways that Lyme and tickborne diseases escape the human body’s immune response is by spreading and hiding in places like the brain. Researchers recently performed an autopsy on the post-mortem brain of a male patient who had suffered from neurological and psychiatric symptoms for more than 13 years. They found DNA from two distinct species of Lyme bacteria in different and non-overlapping areas of the man’s brain using PCR. They also noted some atypical morphology, which they compared with mouse controls.

These results provide more evidence that Lyme disease can hide in the body and persist. Check out the science here:
