Our boy Flynnie is now on his way to England. Warren Hill is going to miss your snuggles and want for attention as soon as we come out of the tack room, or walk down the aisle. You were so much fun to work with and to watch you grow into the amazing horse you have become. Always ears pricked and looking for the fences. You are the sweetest boy and we will miss you so much, but are so happy to know that you are going to be able to continue to shine over in England. We can't wait to visit you soon. Safe travels Flynnie. And make sure you continue to demand all the snuggles you deserve. ❤️

Blazers, aka Ghost Whisperer, you were a tough pony to ride in the white box, but you gave me so much confidence through the flags. You were definitely opinionated, again in the white box but also just on a lazy hack down by the river, especially if a train was coming. But you taught me so much, especially that patience was worth it with you. You were the last homebred, and last horse, we brought down to Virginia after we moved from New Jersey that we had on Warren Hill Farm. After you were done competing at the intermediate level, you went on to work with and teach a number of others before coming home to enjoy your retirement in our fields. Yesterday, you laid to rest for good. We will miss you Blaze, sweet boy. ❤️

Flynn was awesome today. Feeling more confident than I have ever felt him out there jumping. The dressage ring was a foot deep and absolutely disgusting, and he tried his hardest but didn't quite understand why he had to work in that arena. Another clear SJ, and was absolutely on fire on XC, jumping the second to last fenceo, a table, lovely and went to do a nice turn to the last and just hit a wrong spot with his hind feet and they slipped out from under him. I felt so badly for him as he was having such a good go. And it is the last that I will have a chance to run him around. I think this is eventing telling me I'm better off on a sailboat. Good boy Flynnie, I'm proud of you❤🐴❤

Flynnie had a great day at Waredaca today for his first prelim in a year and a half. Although he was a little lazy in dressage, when normally he is spooky so lost some points there. But in SJ and XC he woke up and we had lots of fun running around today. My recorded time was a bit off compared to what I had on my watch, but I did take the pedal off for a couple fences after the fifth jump as he was a little too excited. But after settling down, he was brilliant and jumping everything out of stride on XC. He was very proud of himself today when he got home to WHF to tell his friends what a good day he had 😄❤🐎

WHE now has two spots open for horses in training or for help looking for a new perfect home! Liz took a little hiatus from the sport of eventing, but since March has been getting back into work and is now happy to take on more! Liz has experience with all types of horses from working with OTTBs straight off the track to older horses just needing a little more work. Having competed up to the now 4* level on her own homebred, It's The Truth, and bringing along two others from BN through Advance she has the experience of working with horses at all levels. WHE is based in Scottsville, VA on a quiet and relaxing farm with great facilities and hacking just outside Charlottesville.

Our beloved Molly, or Two Step as she was know while I competed her, was sadly put to rest today. We found Molly through the help of our friends, Sandy and Kathleen Dingus, in Purcellville, VA in the early 2000s as a 3 year old. I started to compete her in eventing bringing her up through the Preliminary level. Molly was a phenomenal jumper for a pure TB and produced one foal who we also know has a lot of scope, Phineas Flynn. After I moved on with other horses, mum took over the ride on Molly and fox hunted her as well as won a 50 mile trail ride while she was in foal with Flynn. Molly was amazing out in the hunt field and she seemed to love every bit of it with mum. Recently, Molly had been leased out to Carolyn who took amazing care of her, it was a perfect match. For a chestnut mare, she had a heart of gold and was a very forgiving horse to all her riders. She will be greatly missed at Warren Hill and I hope she is happily munching on green fields in the skies above.

This sweet sweet girl, Ginny, has found a wonderful new home with Dawn and her daughter Ainsley for Ainsley to compete. Ginny was so much fun to work with, and I can’t wait to see Ainsley and Ginny out competing soon!

Flynnie feeling in top form out on XC again at Loudoun last weekend. Me, remembering it’s best to stick with a bit that works rather than changing it up before XC day. Proud of Flynnie for kicking butt out there last weekend ❤️😊🦄🐎🎉

Even on cold rainy days, Harold wishes to be outside. He spent a long time playing with the latch, and didn’t want me to film him trying to escape. (We have locks on the bottoms of Harold’s and Tom’s stall doors so they don’t escape anymore).

I am having a lot of fun working with Ginny, but we are looking for a new home for her. I love this mare! She is very sweet, and super honest. Lovely mover! Would be great for a YR or AA who loves OTTBs and wants to stick to the lower levels. Would also do great out in the hunt field! Message me for videos!

Flynn’s awesome Intermediate show jumping round from Morven yesterday. The changes they have made there are beautiful!😳

03/31/2019

All ponies had a good, educational outing at Morven Park yesterday! Thomas was the star of the show, duh, finishing third in the OT. It was so much fun taking him out again! I think the last time I ran him was over three years ago in the advanced at Morven in the fall. He still feels amazing, and we had so much fun. I love that horse, and would love to find someone who wants to have as much with him as I did yesterday with a lease. ❤️❤️ (Updated to remind folks that we are looking for someone to lease him on our farm, board is included with the lease fee☺️)
Ginny was again a star in the dressage, being tied for fifth afterwards (half a point behind a Fernhill horse, ahem), she had a green moment in SJ knocking a rail at fence 3 and then getting a bit rattled over the next three fences before relaxing again and jumping super! It was quite a decent training XC course, and fence number five was a trakhaner which Ginny has jumped at PDF but hasn’t been super confident over yet. So she saw that and had to take a look before presenting her again and then she jumped over it fine. We had another green moment at a table near the end where she was trying to get a little too flat and didn’t realize how big it was until the last moment, but then jumped over it well, and finished the rest of the course feeling a lot more confident! Go OTTBs!
Lastly, Flynn had a lovely but tense dressage to be in 11th out of 23 after dressage, jumped an awesome clear show jumping and jumping out of his skin as per usual (one of six clear rounds in the class)! It was a good XC course with some tough questions for a green horse (and my first intermediate in nearly two years). He was a star over all the questions until the last one on course, jumping into water with a tight left turn to a wedge out. Unfortunately galloping through the water very green and not getting a great stride to the wedge, he started to jump then second guessed himself drifting off to the left. I represented, but couldn’t get him on a good stride the next two tries, so unfortunately our day ended at the second to last fence on course. I could be bummed, but he was so awesome around most of a track with questions he hasn’t seen before and was honest all the way, until he just couldn’t wrap his head around the last one 😕 still love this horse and still believe 💯 percent that he has what it takes for him to go to the top. We just need some practice with skinnies coming out of water! ☺️
Love all my ponies, and although the scoreboard doesn’t show what I wanted it to at the end of the day, I am so happy with what they and I have learnt this weekend!
Pics and videos to come!

Yup, Tom and I will be having some fun in the training this weekend! So will Ginny and Flynn!

Sadly due to a family emergency his current rider has to end her lease, so Tom is now available for lease. He still loves to jump all the jumps and when I schooled him while Livia was home he was feeling amazing on the flat! Tom is looking to stay at Warren Hill Farm, but this way the person leasing will have no board to pay! The rider is responsible for all shoeing and veterinary care. We are looking for someone who wants to compete up through Prelim, and is eager to learn and wants to compete! For those that don’t know, Tom was competed up through the now CCI4*L level before retiring a couple years ago from Advanced to teach someone the ropes around the lower levels. He has been very sound and healthy, and is ready to compete. Please contact me if you or anyone you know is interested! Thank you! Here’s a video of Livia and Tom kicking butt at VAHT last fall in the Novice 😊

It's been over a week, but finally posting about a great weekend down at Southern Pines with Ginny and Flynn. Ginny tackled her second novice with ease and scored a 33 in dressage, besting her last score by 3 points. She also went lovely in the SJ until the last two, and I felt they were my fault as I could have ridden her better. Flynn had a lovely, steady dressage and went clear SJ and XC, and felt quite happy to be out on XC! Here are some photos from the weekend. Next one up is Morven with Ginny and Flynn both stepping up a level.

Ginny definitely ranks as number one easiest horse to clip ever. I wish they were all like her! She was feeling very beautiful and was happy to pose for a photo. It was a fun day schooling at PDF with Molly and Mike. Looking forward to Southern Pines in March with Ginny and Flynn!

Seriously, how cute is Tom? He loves his job.

Thomas having fun at VAHT with Livia! He was soooooo cute! Love my Tom, he’s the best!

11/04/2018

WHE went out and competed at Virginia H.T. this weekend and had a very successful weekend! Livia competed at her first east coast big show on Tom and was awesome! Tom was very full of himself going out on XC, but Livia remained calm and said Tom was eagerly looking for the fences. They had a solid dressage and one rail down in SJ to end in the middle of the pack of a large Novice Rider division.
Ginobi (aka Ginny) competed at her first show ever, and was such a good girl!!! I couldn’t believe how nothing at the show bothered her, not even the dressage arena! She put in the best effort she could right now, then went around XC as if she had been out there plenty of times before. Poor thing was quite tired today after yesterday’s excitement, so struggled jumping in the SJ, but I still couldn’t be prouder of her considering she has been in work for only two months!
Lots of work to do this winter, but it looks like I’m back in the eventing game! I would love to take on more students as well!
Facebook will only let me post one video at a time, so here is miss Ginny running around XC! 🤗

I forgot to take photos, but Tom and Ginny got to go for a XC school today at Plain Dealing Farm. So thankful for have such a great place to take the ponies schooling so close by! Livia learnt how to get her butt out of the saddle and jump out of stride and Tom had a blast teaching her. Ginny was fabulous her second time out schooling and I can’t wait to take her to her first event in two weeks at Virginia Horse Trials!! For those who haven’t seen her, this is her in the photo. She is a 9 year old OTTB by Go For Gin. She did flat racing and hurdles and is as sweet as can be. Looking forward to working with her more and more!
